Can't be self selection.

Can't be that whites may have some advantages like (wealth, parents who care for them, etc) for pursuing a career in the arts, which therefore causes there to be more white actors

Can't be that due to more white people choosing this profession, that odds are in their favor.

Nope, Hollywood is just being racist as frick.

Let's also throw out, who is the general movie audience with the most money to see movies? I'm going to guess white people.

Well, if we go by population statistics 15% of movie characters being black sounds about right.

They just happen to all be in Tyler Perry movies.

Blacks are getting their own starring roles without being stereotyped, but it's really Asians that are getting the shaft in all this. Aside from Jackie Chan films, name one American movie where an Asian is the lead/main character? Maybe the Harold and Kumar films? Whitewashing has gotten ridiculous with Asian inspired films, and that needs to change.

There are enough major black stars like:

Morgan Freeman
Denzel Washington
Will Smith
Jamie Foxx
Samuel L Jackson
Eddie Murphy

where I think she should feel pretty well represented as a black person, if not a woman

This is not only race-baiting, it's outright bullshite.

Movies must do well their opening weekend, and blacks -- for whatever reason -- will "open" a film (that is, attend in large numbers on the opening weekend).

As a result scripts will have black characters added, white characters changed to black, and there will even be things like The Honeymooners movie, which was passed around for years until the script was changed to be a black version, when it got greenlighted quickly. All because blacks open.

Well here's the other thing: like the rest of America, Hollywood is prone to nepotism. In fact, I would say that Hollywood is more than prone to nepotism--they openly embrace it. Many people are related in some fashion to each other. But regardless of that, the simple truth of who you know will get you the job more than your qualifications certainly is true in Hollywood.

Who do white people know? White people. It's only natural.

Additionally, that sentiment trickles down to the writers--I would venture to guess that most writers in Hollywood are white because they are the ones that get their stuff read thanks to their connections with agents/readers (mostly white) or because they are the ones that had connections to get into UCLA film school or because they had the money to frick off in L.A. for years while doing nothing but writing, whatever. Point being, most Hollywood writers are white. What do people tend to write about? Things they know about. What do white people know about? The slums of Southside Chicago, right? I mean seriously, they write about white people because they know about white people.

MOREOVER, Hollywood is a business. The major movie studios know that (a) there are more white people in America than black people and (b) minorities have no issue going to see a movie starring mostly white actors. Economically, there is a much larger pool from which to collect money.

The time has come for more diversity in the sports world.

Starting next year all sports teams from college through Pro sports must adhere to statistics.

Whites make up 72%
Blacks make up 13%

All sports teams starting next year should reflect these statistics or the teams will be forced to forfeit.

Can't wait to see the 5% Asians playing in the NBA.
