spot on. thanks for sharing! it's unconscionable to think that a 2014 film set in Egypt casts few people of color.

I completely, 100%, to the end of the world, agree with this shite here. Exodus looks ridiculous precisely because of this fact. I don't know that I can get passed Christian Bale playing Moses and Joel Edgerton playing Rameses. This is worse than Keanu playing a half-Japanese warrior in 47 Ronin. At least he's, you know, some part Japanese and looks like he has an Asian influence in his facial structure. Bale doesn't look particularly Jewish and Edgerton looks nothing like a Pharaoh.

Jet Li is your only lead mentioned. The rest are either basically white or haven't had a leading role in an American movie. I'm not talking about supporting characters, and Israelis certainly don't count.

How does she get out of bed in the morning with all that white guilt weighing her down?

I somehow am able to make it through a movie without once thinking or even remotely caring about whether or not other ethnicities are fairly represented. I would struggle to find something I care less about in this world.

By the way, I would love to know the number of Tyler Perry movies she has watched in the last 5 years.

Did she watch Cross?

Perry single-handedly probably killed off the Alex Cross movies for a long time.

Slumdog, no. I'd say Pi does though, but there's no fricking way you could whitewash that character and not make the movie completely ridiculous.

I am a bit surprised someone hasn't tried to steal some of Tyler Perry's audience.

The guy puts out generic films on a tight budget and makes it all back in the first week then dvd sales are all gravy. So I don't get why more studios don't try this model a bit more often.

I also don't understand why every major studio doesn't always have a cheap horror flick out every October. Or any month with a Friday 13th.

I 100% understand why they don't DIVERSIFY $200 million dollar projects. Hell, they are already too scared to take many risks so we get frackin super hero reboots two seconds after the last actor moves on.

They also tend to stick to established content for big budgets. Not like they are going to make Thor black although they did give Idris some work in Thor.

dont know how many leads, but miyagi-san,, Pat Morita has had a very long and prosperous career.

I first remember him from Midway where he played one of the Jap. admirals, he's basically lit it up every since.

I mean with all the BET entertainment and other foreign film sources like Bollywood, with much more available on the internet, are people really complaining about lack of foreign acting content, or just that some white people still have jobs?

Seems more like the later.

Charlie's Angels? (Lucy Liu)

MESTIZO (half Filipino) is NOT basically white, at least not according to my filipino in-laws. So you can go ahead and add Lou Diamond Philips and Rob Schneider to that list.

Robin Shou was the main character in both Mortal Kombat films even though Christopher Lambert was the "lead" so there's another two.

You seriously counting every Jackie Chan film including the Rush Hour films, the Karate Kid reimaging, the Tuxedo, etc.?

I actually think what they did with Heimdall and Hogun was pretty good casting, as those characters are "race generic".

If the author wants to be technical, Charlize Theron is more "African American" than she is because she's actually from South Africa.

Don't get me started on the term "Caucasian". I'm not from a mountain region in Eastern Europe whose indigenous population is dark-skinned, and neither are my ancestors.

Azeris, Armenians, Georgians, and Turks are "Caucasian"...and they are not white.

So she is bashing Lucy for having a white woman yet... as someone else pointed out.. "You mean the movie in which the super smart scientist is a black man or the major police assistance comes from an Egyptian actor? Those white people?"

Asians actually do have somewhat of a legitimate gripe when it comes to acting. But blacks certainly do not. I can't believe she actually insinuated that they mainly just play slaves and the help.
