I called DirecTv about a week ago and of course they gave me the same ole line of crap, we are in talks with the SEC network and feel like we will get it.
Directv did give me $40 off my bill for 3 months and NFL sunday ticket for free.

The SEC Network is set for one of the most successful sports network launches in history now that DirecTV, the nation's largest satellite company, emailed Outkick that the company is "quite hopeful" and "expects to be able to provide the network soon." The public comments of DirecTV square with the private comments of SEC and ESPN executives, who are confident that a deal is near as well.

I contacted Directv a few days ago and got their prepared statement, ongoing negotiations...
The SEC network starts their coverage with South Carolina hosting A&M on Thursday the 28th of August.
The LSU-ULM game is on the following week.
If you are out of contract, DISH has the SEC network.

Settle down everyone. My sources are telling me directv is on the 5 yard line in getting this done. There is a big disney renewal going on and it involves billions of dollars so they are working on that and the sec network is part of it
Don't forget directv is also negotiating the renewal of the Sunday ticket so the sec network isn't their only priority. It's going to get done, settle down. We aren't even in August yet

Did they give you this because you voiced your concern over possibly not having the SEC network? If so, I'm calling today!

Just called to complain about SEC network and got the red zone channel for free, I just had to upgrade in June so I am under a two year contract and had no leverage but they still gave it to me. So now is the time to call especially if you are about be through with your contract.

They offered me $35 a month off for 1 year, free genie upgrade, and NFL Sunday ticket free for this season. I have 5 days on the offer. Mulling it over. Any opinions? Thanks.

Are you actually:
1. Talking shite about a fricking cable provider?
2. Knighting for Cox?
And relax little guy, the network doesn't even launch until August 14. So I'm glad that Cox is "whipping DIrectv's arse when it comes a network that doesn't even launch for a couple more weeks.

I just got off the phone with customer retention, and was told they likely won't acquire the SEC Network this year. Don't shoot the messenger.
They gave me $20 off my bill each month for a year. Also free movie channels for 6 months and NFL Red Zone for free after I told them I'm considering Dish.

I called them tonight , I was getting all the premium channels for free until last month ..
my 2 year contract is up December 1 and I wanted the sunday ticket .... so I told them I wanted to get rid of the premium channels and for them not to deduct for the sunday ticket this year ...
they ended up giving me all premium channels for free for 1 year but will still deduct for the sunday ticket for 39.99 for 6 months ...
basically my bill went down $55.00 and will go down another $39.00 after 6 months and I will get everything I am already getting .... so I was happy ....
before getting off the phone I asked about the sec network and the girl told me that they are close to coming to an agreement ...

how the hell did they give you redzone .... they keep telling me I cant get redzone without getting the sunday ticket ....
don't get me wrong I believe you , because I have had many people tell me they get the redzone without sunday ticket , but I cant seem to get it...

$30 off bill through December and sunday ticket max free this year.
Contract does not expire till end of December and did not require me to extend.
I used the approach that a local carrier was offering to reduce my bill by the size of my cancellation fee to bring me over (lie). Said I was willing to be loyal and "wait it out" if they showed me they cared. She reduced the bill 30 on her own then after that I asked for sunday ticket
