I am up here in Virginia and have Verizon FIOS. They had the nerve to tell me to not call back and ask about the SEC Network again. I got no answer of course and they carry the Big 10 Network and the Longhorn Network.

why even get on here and say crap like "Directv says they have no plans to carry the SECN." Man that's out there to put it mildly.

Dude call back. At WORST you should be getting Sunday Ticket Max for 50% off which is 163.99 I believe. If is 4 payments of 40 bucks, instead of 6.

I got it for free though and that was after accepting the half off offer and PAYING the first installment of it. I was credited back my first installment and then given the NFL Sunday Ticket for free

when i called to sign up for direct a couple of weeks back they told me they would definitely have the SECN before the start of the season and it would be part of the Xtra package.

Man I don't know how much experience you have dealing with Directv but they will tell you anything to get you under contract. And it's usually what you find out after the install that is the worse. It's what you don't have and find out you need that they get you on. So don't put any stock in the over the phone sales person. They are very well trained.

Just wondering if any other Comcast users have gotten they flyers about the SEC Network?

I got another one today and the last sentence reads "You wont get that on Direct TV."

FYI. I do not believe that Direct will be left out however that is the second time I have read Comcast advertising something about SEC Network, SEC Rewind and SEC Storied. with the last line being "You wont get that on Direct TV."

Full advertisement reads as follows.

"Get access to 45 SEC games that you won't see anywhere else. Plus, get the inside scoop with exclusive news, coverage and programming like SEC Rewind and SEC Storied. And it's all available at home or on the go. You wont get that with Direct TV."

What ever that means, I'm not sure. Just though I'd share to help you talk to Direct TV.

Good Luck and

I called 2 days ago and apparently got the shaft. Only been with them for about 4 months and had a couple of issues already. Anyway i proceeded to voice my displeasure of not having SEC Network yet along with past problems. The response I got was they weren't getting the network this year and gave me a whole $5 off my bill per month.

Anyone who says this I know is a liar. Whether or not Directv actually gets the network is unknown, but there is absolutely no chance in hell that they are telling customers they wont be getting it. That makes zero sense

I wouldn't call someone out on anything just yet. Everyone has expected DTV to get on board but they're cutting it pretty close considering the totality of the Disney/ABC/ESPN contracts that have to be addressed - it's a lot more involved than just the SEC Network. They can certainly still get it done but with AT&T thing pending, who knows what their priorities are? At this late stage & with the merger looming they *could* take a measured risk & wait until they complete the deal before ponying up for the SEC Network.

I agree with this. However, the people saying "Directv told me they would not get the SEC network" are lying or deaf. There is no way in hell DTV would say that

That's a reasonable assumption but on the other hand, some of their CSR's are not the brightest bulbs on the tree.

They may not be the sharpest people in the universe, but there is absolutely zero chance they said they aren't getting the network this year. If they don't know they will read you the section under the FAQ section online. I know this because I called three times in the last week and a half.

The guy yesterday actually said they made more progress yesterday but they haven't released anything to the public yet.

FYI, the network doesn't even launch until August 14. This is NOT cutting it close. They have plenty of time to complete their deal.

I got a lot. I would call if I were you and I would call back until someone will give you the Sunday Ticket Max for free. I called twice yesterday and once a week ago and the third person gave it to me.

It's going to be so awesome when AT&T/Directv/ESPN/ABC/Disney are just one giant conglomerate. :can'twait

I have had direct tv for 11 years and I just called to cancel. All you have to do is ask to cancel. They will transfer you to someone and will ask why. Tell them you are going to dish network because they have the sec network and they offered me a $150 debit card to cover my cancellation fee and are giving me $40 off per month for a year. They gave me the NFL Sunday ticket max free for the season and $25 off per month for a year. Also no additional contract so if they don't get it I can cancel at the end of August. The Rep assured me that they would have the SEC network by the first game.
