frick butter or Crisco. Holy schnikes this shite is good. Plus, since I rendered my own lard, I also have a nice little pile of cracklin dust. Do yourselves a favor and give it a try, I would just suggest rendering it outside, because it can get a little porky doing it inside.

Where did you find it? I'm guessing LaMorenita would have it. I've seen it done somewhere, on tv I guess, in a crockpot.

Did you run it through a grinder?

I bought some leaf lard from Iverstine Farms at the Farmers Market a few weeks back and have yet to do anything with it. I assume you just put it in a pot on a burner with a touch of water and slowly render it out? Then save rendered fat to use in biscuits?

I saw it done in a crock pot. It was run through a grinder first but I'm guessing you could just cut it in small pieces. Then put in crock pot on low.

That's not a bad idea. Thanks

I just cubed it up, and put it on the stove. Ultra low heat. No issues.
