The dope-heads would have never risen to power and would not now be in possession of some of the most powerful political offices.

Perhaps more impactfully, they would have never gotten away socially with raising the Entitlement Generation that is going to ensure this country continues to spiral down the drain.

In short, we would be a more Conservative, financially sound, God-fearing country where people are expected to take care of themselves.

As it is now, we are - for all intensive reasons - China-lite.

Universities would not be run by socialist-intellectuals, STEM professionals would be the standard for who should be put in leadership positions.

They would have come here and we'd all be eating with chop sticks and living as communists.
That's what we were told back then, anyway.

Intents and reasons are not the same as intensive reasons. Or regions.

Also Johnson runs for POTUS again in '68 (assuming in your scenario JFK is still killed in '63) and LBJ probably doesn't go and open up China. China and Soviet Union don't have a falling out and all of Asia becomes a Red Block and WW3 is inevitable

I don't think it is preposterous to assume we would have found ourselves fighting Communists in Cambodia or Thailand later on. If we had avoided this, the Soviets and Chinese may have started going at it.

How this would have affected US politics is sort of a guess. Does Johnson get a second term? Is the conflict over Civil Rights more or less contentious? Does Nixon ever get elected? What becomes of Ronald Reagan? Is defense technology less dynamic?
