I turned 30 a month ago, so I grew up during the developmental stages of everything, but as I was driving yesterday, wifi tethering my phone to a touch-screen laptop, looking at traffic in another city, and I was thinking,"Damn, this is crazy where we are now"

Yeah, I don't understand any of it. I truly have little concept of how advanced technology works. I'm like a child looking at an airplane.

Playing an online game at 30,000 feet is pretty amazing.

I do. All the time. It's crazy to think about how far we've come in just the last 15 or 20 years, let alone since I was born.

Playing GTA 5 made me think how crazy it is how far video games have come since Pong, then to Mario, to GTA 1, etc

But stuff like the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty or the Pyramids impress me more

The fact that this morning, I opened up our pantry to see we were low on dog food. Took my phone, scanned the barcode with my Amazon app and it'll be here on Wednesday blows me away.

I remember using AIM in the mid 90's...and now we video chat with people on other continents on our cell phones.

I LOVE my microwave oven! Popcorn!!! Are you kidding me?

Saw this commercial with an author/illustrator using his tablet/laptop that disconnects from itself, and all able due to the teeny, tiny micro-processor that's no larger than your index finger! Like, what?! Blows my mind. Who discovered that sand holds memories?

Nope, because I don't understand it. Anything you don't understand should be feared and demonized. Technology is fundamentally evil and is ruining society.

Really 93-ish when the internet was starting to take off, is when things really started to take off.

Then smartphones came along and took it to a whole different level.

I was watching honey I shrunk the kids yesterday. The chick gets caught up in the phone wire and it had me thinking about how advanced shite is compared to only 25 years ago.

When remote controls came out for TV's, I was one happy camper. Then there was this box that showed color pictures. High cotton.

considering I grew up when 8-track tapes were in service, soon to be replaced by the cassette, which in turn was rendered obsolete by the CD, which is now considered "old technology" with the arrival of the flash drive (or the iphone), yes I am overwhelmed by how far we have progressed. And that, obviously, doesn't even scratch the surface of what we can do/have at our disposal.

Insurance gives me a 15% discount to perform a "vehicle health report"

My phone syncs to my truck automatically. When I clicked the button for the report my phone automatically called this 800 number and apparently gave all details my insurance company needed.

I been putting on lots of 80s-90s movies for the gf that she was too young to remember.

Can't Buy Me Love
Silence of the Lambs

both movies made me laugh. Ronald Could have gotten SO MUCH MORE PUSSY with a smart phone and apps than wasting money on that bitch Cindy Mancini.

And Buffalo Bill woulda been caught MUCH quicker with technology of today.

I am often more amazed at other's lack of amazement about technology.

Pretty much everyone keeps a device in their pockets that communicates with satellites in outer fricking space for frick's sake.

its all perspective.

i'm angry the $100 Pioneer head unit i bought for my car doesn't display the bluetooth song titles. all i can do is pause/play/next track.

oh and it supports free HD radio, 2 USB devices, charges my phone and mp3 cds (which i guess at one time i used to think was cool...)
