Anyone know anything about these pistols? I had an offer to buy one for $250 and am trying to decide if this is a can't pass deal. I have heard mixed reviews on Ruger pistols, so I am not sure what to do.

You can't go wrong with a $250 pistol, no matter what it is, IMO.

Glock17 is selling one in a thread below. I need to email him, come to think of it.

It's a pretty reliable little pocket pistol, but I'm a bit partial to the Kahr CW380 because the trigger and sights are much better. Then again, the LCP is still good, especially at that price. Just know what you're getting - it won't be a fun range toy.

It's a pocket pistol and nothing else. I would bet it's the most carried gun in the country right now.

It's my pocket pistol. You won't like taking it to the range and putting a few hundred rounds through it or anything. It is a nice little concealed carry gun.

This.^ The gun is small and light. OTOH, because it is so light, it's very snappy when shot. The trigger is VERY long. It has an external safety, something I personally don't like in a pocket gun. When carried in a pocket holster it should fit in the front pocket of nearly every pair of pants you have. I see the LCP and other pocket 380's like it as a cc gun to be carried when one can't carry a larger gun of 38 Spec caliber or bigger.

For $250 you better hop on that deal.

It's my daily carry pocket pistol. Like others are saying, it's not a range gun, but it's great at what it's designed to do: be a concealed carry pistol.

Yeah it would be for carry purposes only...

That is a good deal at $250 I think i paid around $325 for the one i have in stainless. That pistol is so small and light you will forget it is on you it is also surprisingly easy to shoot.

They must have changed that as mine does not have and external safety. Just a very long trigger pull.

When did this happen?

ETA: maybe you're confusing the LC9

Nice light carry gun. Trigger is not very good, but that's by design.

Mine doesn't have the external safety. I bought it new a few years ago, and it is a great carry gun. I try to put about 50 rounds through it when I go to the range, just to keep acquainted with the long trigger pull and lack of sights. It isn't all that snappy. More than a full size for sure, but not bad considering the size and weight. I put a Pierce extension on mine, and also added the Clip Draw that they make for the Kahr .380. I think it was just removing something and screwing it into place. I can't remember, but it took me all of 5 minutes and I can clip it in my waistband and not much need for a holster.

I stand corrected. Y'all are rigt-the LCP does NOT have an external safety lever. I could've sworn in the pics I saw that it had one, but looks like I was wrong. To me, it's a more desirable pocket gun w/o the safety.
