I went a long time ago--maybe close to 10 years? I remember getting oysters trio or something like that and enjoying them

I was there in May. Excellent meal. The catfish pecan was really tasty. Also had oysters, shrimp deviled eggs and the bourbon milk punch.

It's fine. Not a top restaurant but good for a rehearsal dinner. The oyster trio is a good app. They can cook fish better than Oceana or The Gumbo Pot.

Bourbon House is pretty good. But I've found in general, places that are usually really good normally are not that great when doing rehearsal dinner type events.

Get something that's tough to screw up and won't suffer being cranked out en masse, and you'll be ok.

ETA: Nevermind, said he was going tonight. Hope he returns with a review.

I like their veal, I just love the place cause if you are a little tipsy on bourbon you can walk straight in, get a table and have a pretty good meal for a decent price.

Food is ok...I go for the great selection of bourbon and raw oysters when the time is right.

Really?? People still believe in that stuff?? New invention of refrigeration on boats ended that "saying".

You got refrigerated docks everywhere too? If you don't think you still have a better chance of getting sick from a raw oyster in the summer you're wrong

To write off oysters for the entire warm part of the year is silly to me. Vibrio is out there in the water all year round. Yes, it is more prevalent in warmer waters but I like to buy my oysters from reputable places that buy from reputable fishermen.
Refrigeration regulations are getting way more strict on oystermen. I'm sure some of them may break rules and let their catch get to unsafe temps from time to time, but I'm sure it is not the norm.

In my experience this is not the case with Bourbon House. I have attended several 50+ person events that went smoothly.

Guess you like oyster sperm more than most folks, including me.
