There is one a 5 minute drive from me and I never go there. Too vanilla and corporate.

Got one less than 5, and another about 5. Have been maybe twice, and one time was just because we had an hour wait at Cheesecake. Place blows. Much rather go to a real sports bar or regular bar.

I was afraid of that.

I don't think so still, but they will be able to survive just of off the Dome traffic and Mardi Gras. Lots of BMC drinking going on.

I highly doubt that will happen in our lifetime. Not with the NIMBY's and the current moratorioum and zoning issues.

We don't need a sports bar. Every bar already has the Saints game on.

What we need is a place like Pig & Pint

I'm not sure if you chimed in but several said a beer bar wouldn't work in the WHD when I proposed the idea.

Eta: LINK

I got destroyed in this thread and look a month later a beer bar opening on the same street I wanted to open one.

I've been to two of them in Florida and while they do have a corporate feel to them, the place should be welcomed in Nola.

The bottle selection will be better than any bar in the city(if its anything like the two ive been in)and the taps won't be filled with BMC crap.

I can deal with corporate for a place like this because the prices were fair, the place is clean, and I don't leave smelling like an ash tray.

I agree with Jones. I went to one in Fort Worth and had some beers that you can't get or never see here. Had some appetizers too. Pretty decent, and reasonable prices.

The day we went, there was a world cup game on. There was a good mix of young folks, couples, dude finishing a bike ride, etc.

It may be a franchise, but it beats the hell out of nothing.

Exactly what I said in the thread I linked above you.
I don't like chains. Unless it's a beer bar chain.
