What was the deal with that jab at Panetta? I highly doubt that could be verified being said.

Just thought it was unnecessary and odd.

Sorry, I'm a light weight after two glasses of vino.

In ZDT, they are briefing Leon Paneta of the possible UBL compound and he makes some kind of uneducated comment about putting a camera in a tree near the compound. It's a dead silence moment that made LP appear to be a dumbass. He may have been one, but just thought an intense moment of the movie was sidetracked with that line.

Oh, I as watching the movie at the time I started the thread. Carry on.

Gandolfini was great, that line didn't bug me though. Seemed like what someone with a lot of cats to herd might ask in a briefing.

"Is he there or his he not f#%king there?!?"

Think it was a shot at civilian leadership at the Pentagon.

I don't think Panetta was an idiot, but he had limited experience to be Sec. Def.

didnt think that was that big of a deal. they were looking for a better view to the house. WIth high powered cameras that are very small i would think that putting a camera at a significatn vantage point would be a natural question.

Good flick.

I actually know what you're talking about bc I watched it this weekend.

Didn't really think much of it. Might have been said, but doubt it with these sort of movies. There are so many claims about whether it went down the way the movie says

I don't have a specific memory of that scene or having a problem with that question.

I used to dabble in that business, and decisionmakers just want as much information as possible before approving a mission - the more dangerous the mission, the more confirmation they want.
