Dick and Jenny's this weekend

Me and the wife went to D&J's this weekend for our anniversary. I've always liked the place, and it has a special meaning behind it for us. However, this weekend, the food was some of the best I've ever had.

For starters i got the Escargot - Sautéed escargot, smoked bacon, wild mushrooms in garlic butter and the wife got the Fried Green Tomatoes - Crisp fried, green tomatoes, louisiana lump crabmeat, dill remoulade.
This was my first time ever having escargot and they were incredible. I'm still thinking of how great they were. An incredible earthy-ness to them. The mushrooms paired with them took it over the top.
The wife's fried green tomatoes were very good to.

For the entree i got the Pan seared salmon wrapped with smoked salmon with brussel sprouts. This was even better. The salmon was absolutely perfect and incredible, but the brussel sprouts were amazing. It was my first time eating brussel sprouts too. The whole dish was just the perfect mix of flavor. Each bite left me finding new flavors. With this, i also ordered the Smothered Greens - Hearty greens, caramelized red onion, bacon, cane vinegar. This went very well with my dish and i really enjoyed it.

The wife got the Gulf Fish - Pan roasted flounder, louisiana pecan risotto, savory praline sauce, fresh arugula. I didn't try it, but she said it was very good.

Overall, it was probably one of the best meals i've had in a long time.
