I apologize if this has been touched on already, but does Germany's World Cup victory give Klinsmann an even longer leash with the USMNT program? I know the German program has always been great, and even in its down years (2000-2004) still performed well in the World Cup but it seems as if they have had the best program in the World other than maybe Spain since Klinsmann took over. I know Low continued to take the program to higher levels, but does the US program look at the German result as a sign of things to come? (I know we have a long way to go)

I think he had a 4 year leash regardless of what the Germans did.

It's damn near impossible to have a longer leash than that for any coach in international soccer, to be honest.

Klinsmann has more job security than probably any other national team coach in the world.

ETA Jogi Loew maybe has more right now, maybe.

Tabarez from Uruguay may be coming off, what? A three cycle leash or is it four?

I think if jurgy improves our team and success in four years, he will retire as coach but be put in charge of our youth system overhaul.

Germany helps that but ultimately his ideas and power will come directly from the progress made through 2018

I think he has another 4 years before he moves on to just technical director. He'll have a guy ready to take over by then. Maybe Tab.

He's been getting lots of credit

The USMNT better not let him go anytime soon.

Having him on the bench for the full team is smart. He'll be able to familiarize himself with the older guys and help the transition of the younger guys.

England should give that assistant to Jogi a look. He was instrumental in Germany winning that WC (set pieces).
