Well yeah, but I think AV kinda stopped playing after they saw the flag... Not sure it would've been that easy.

Trust me, I know it was a shite call, but I'm not convinced we deserved to level it up there, but I'm frustrated right now so I'm going to be pretty negative.

Hope we can make some big moves this summer and make a splash post Gerrard

Up into Balo buried that goal on the offside call, I agree. Should have been extra time. I hate when assistants make that obvious of a screw up.

Three Villa players stopped playing when the flag went up. It was a shite call but no way you can say he scores there.

You should be pissed at how shocking Lovern was yet again

Agreed, he was a terrible buy, but to be fair, you can say this about half the team today (Gerrard, Sterling, Balo, etc.)

Would anyone really be gutted at this point if we let Rodgers go and tried to bring in Klopp? I mean the guy's leaving Dortmund, and I seriously doubt he'd come here, but hey we can dream right?

Klopp would be perfect esp with the whole club approach and the stadium expansion going on.

But he would clear house and you would have to be patient esp when he starts playing the youth players over established stars.

I'd be totally fine with giving him a few years, I'm just tired of this team not being able to close in big spots (see PL race last year, Europe this year, FA and Cap. One Cup this year)

Not sure you can say Balo was bad... He had zero service and never really had a clear chance other than that header, which he went WAY up to get.

Gerrard, Allen, and Lovren were garbage. Can was useless. Sterling was... well, Sterling. The whole team sucked it up.

As for the Balo score, those guys stopped to look at the flag the way I saw it... the whistle came late. Either way, he was ahead of the defenders heading towards the goal. No way they could have gotten back to help. He made a fantastic run.

They stopped when the whistle blew. Was a disallowed chance but hard to say it was a disallowed goal.

Really most of the team was shite today. And I may be in the minority, but I thought Lovren was probably our best defender today. Not saying much, especially since he's largely responsible for the second goal, but other than that I didn't think he was too bad. Skrtel and Can got abused though

Yep, all of this... I'm over it, I'll still watch, but I'm not invested anymore and it feels okay.

We were utter shite today.

I'm afraid a change at the top may need to be made. Rodgers got fricking owned by Tim Sherwood. Let that sink in. AV was a relegation side.

He said after the game that Gerrard was "excellent". What in the frickity frick is he talking about?

Balo getting shite on as usual when he was one of our better players. Besides him and Cou, everyone else was fricking worthless.

Holy shite Lovren. Shocking player and purchase for 20M. Same thing for Markovic. We bought 100 million bag of dog shite last summer.

Hate to disagree but Balo wasn't good. Wasn't terrible (like half of the team) but wasn't remotely good.

Dude had about as many off-sides calls in one half as goals on the whole season.

Of course, we resorted to playing kick-ball against Villa. It was amazingly poor.

Its about as disappointing of an effort from coaches to players that I can recall. There was really about 2 minutes of redeeming play in the entire game.

I like Rodgers, but I'm not sure he has *it*, and that makes him replaceable. I think he could develop it, but then again, that was the risk of getting a coach so young. I think our ownership was willing to give him time to see, but at some point, a trophy is needed.

And this was about as easy of a run to the FA cup as you can possibly expect.

If you contact Klopp and he says he would come I don't see how you could pass on him. I just don't think BR is the guy to take us to the next level and I get no joy out of saying that.

If we crash out and finish 6th or 7th. I think he's gone, especially with Klopp available.

Today was just completely unacceptable in every single facet.

Why the hell Benteke isn't our number 1 target is beyond me. Dude is such a beast and always dominates us.

I really thought BR was our guy but the same problems keep occurring over and over again. At some point you have to cut the cord and I don't even want to discuss his transfer issues.

Agreed. He was clueless today. How many different formations did we go to?

Playing Gerrard at defensive mid for 90 minutes was utterly shocking. I'm baffled at his decisions.

We're playing like shite, super static and he brings on Lambert and Glen Johnson? What the hell was that? Lambert coming on in the 89th minute?

Balo wasn't great today.. He was offside every other time the ball was played to him.. Ironically, he wasn't, in the best possible chance he had to score...

We desperately need someone in MF to protect the defense... Lucas is better at it than anyone else we have, but we need an upgrade on him, too..

I have purposefully avoided bringing up Klopp, but now that all seems over... frick it! I think you have to work the back channels and feel him out.. If he's agreeable, see ya Brendan! I think the club is a great mix of history, young talent and a challenge for him.. Many of our aging, high wage players are out the door at the end of the season too... From what I've read, he may be the type of guy that favors that over a job like City... Who knows, money talks and I'm always skeptical...

As for BR, I like him and think one day, he may end up being a great manager... But he is not right now and LFC can't wait for him to work out his short comings... I really think he blew it last summer.. The Suarez £ should have set us up to be a lot better this season, given how down the league has been...

Edit: FWIW, I don't think he was outcoached today.. They just had two easy chances.. Sherwood really didn't do anything special tactically...

I'm so glad Gerrard is almost gone. His performance today was absolutely shocking. Hell the entire outfield was absolutely shocking. Never have I seen such a lack of passion from a Liverpool squad since Woy was at the helm.

As for Klopp, I think we have a much better shot at him than people give us credit for. The guy is a loon - in a good way. In a way that would make LFC much more appealing than the likes of City. As TFTC said, the vets are all on their way out. We have a load of promising young talent. The new stadium on the way with owners who mirror much of Klopp's vision. A club that is in desperate need for a "project." He's already shown disdain for clubs like Bayern (and let be honest - Bayern is run much more respectably than City).

Will be an interesting summer.
