Jones
He did well to come off his line that one time. I thought he did pretty well distributing today.

But is he better than Migs, I really don't think so.

I a not sure either are as bad as our back line has made them look. I would be interested to see how we would have done in this formation all year instead of playing "musical fronts".

I know they definitely don't help, but that doesn't change the fact that neither controls their area well and are good enough sweepers for the type of game we really want to play

Yea but I don't think he's so much better to justify Migs being completely dropped for him. I like that Rodgers has made it a "you're not gonna automatically be in goal every week" situation, but I don't think he had a good enough back up to put him in and now he's probably going to leave him in no matter what to prove a point until we get a new keeper.

No doubt... yeah we need a better keeper, but Jones is not the answer... I can understand dropping Migs for Bournemouth, but in the league.. Mignolet over Jones any day...

Yeah it was the wrong decision. I think we win easily with Migs in goal today. The second goal was absolutely inexcusable.

Only able to watch the first half last night due to family stuff all day. I know the final result and was encouraged by the display. Cous movement after we forced flamini to an area was exemplary. Also markovic needs to keep getting pt. if he ever figured out how to shoot he will be really good.

Next three - burnley, Swansea and Leicester. 7 is the minimum standard here. If we have any hope of top 4 we need to start the run now.

Two of the top four are already decided. The third looks likely given how few non pl games they will play. That leaves one spot and 6 teams ahead of us for it. 9 points to make up. Every point we drop from here is a big deal.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't our only red card last year hendos vs man city? The team did such a good job buying into the team first philosophy. I feel like we are lacking there a bit this year.

Sure he should have saved the second goal, but both of those goals were due to awful markings. Giroud had enough space to sit down and enjoy a brew

And not seeing the shitty distribution and nervous clearances by Migs is much welcomed. But I think we all agree neither Migs nor Jones are the answer.

ESPN scouting of lacazette.

LINK

Frankly, he sounds like a great potential addition and would fit right in. Much better fit than Balo is.

But would he go from starting every game at a French team that looks to make cl next year to an English team with a slim shot at cl and an undetermined sticker pecking order?

Wouldn't mind calling back any one or all of these three back in Jan., especially if we stay with a back 3...

Sebastian Coates, Andre Wisdom and Tiago Ilori

Andre is made for the role as the RCB, where as Ilori could be very good in the middle as a sweeper type.. Coates had a very good match this weekend and we'll need the depth... Obviously, I don't think we'll call of three of them back, but given the limited funds (if any) we'll have in Jan., I'd rather see it spent elsewhere...

If we keep playing three in the back, we need at least one more CB. If not two.

Unless you think Glenn Johnson or Flanno can play RCB/LCB? Glen did play there a few games ago before the injury, but I'm not certain that was because he was first choice.

Still don't like the personnel choices, but I get why he's sticking with it... In all honesty, we shouldn't have to worry about Burnley, but some how I just get the feeling it's going to be a long 90 mins..

Would love to see Ojo..

Its an aggressive formation. I like it in that we're playing a team in the relegation zone. Its a formation that says that the manager has confidence in us.

It scares me in that Burnley will park the bus and play for the counter.

Hoping we're up big and Ojo can play 30 or so.

Gift being the key word there. We did not look very good for most of that game. But hey, part of building form is winning even when we are not at our best.

yep, def take the 3 pts... will always be capable of a few moments of magic, just glad we capitalized on it today..

BR seems to have totally destroyed Migs confidence... 2 unacceptable mistakes today, luckily they didn't cost us...

edit: Can was great after he came on...
