I personally believes be brings a lot of what we lack in defense right now, balls and confidence. And we've all seen how ridiculous he can be as a shot stopper. I think it could be a good fit, but I definitely get what you guys are saying. I'd honestly prefer to move migs along and bring in another keeper with Ochoa.

I think Migs is a better intermediate and long range shot stopper. I have no numbers for that, and have certainly watched Migs more than Ochoa.
I think Ochoa may be a bit better at short range stopping - the kind where you can't really react you just put your body in the best position - and we saw this weekend how DDG stopped at least two at very short range by doing that.
The one area I think Ochoa may be better is command of the box, but thats based upon my impression of Ochoa and how bad Migs is.
It probably won't hurt and could help. It would have been better on a free (thanks comittee), but 3M ain't bad.
I just keep thinking about how much $$ this committee has wasted on worthless players and then they want to turn around and apparently nickel and dime Sanchez.

I'm really hoping to see Sakho tomorrow. He and Toure at the CBs together.
One thing I like about Sakho is that he plays incisive balls along the ground. Those are easy for the offensive player to play with, rather than having to trap a ball that came in the air.

I keep responding to myself
Johnson out for a month with a groin tear.
Not-so-super Mario not making the trip today.
When is Flanagan back? We have zero depth at outside back right now.

Do any of yall know of Finn McCool's will show the game today? It's on BeIn, which I don't have, but really don't feel like watching a shitty stream either

I'm sure they will have it on, given the LFC contingent that goes there...
I think if we have the rumored back 3, you'll probably see Hendo playing as the RWB

Jones; Toure, Skrtel, Lovren; Lucas, Gerrard, Coutinho, Lallana, Henderson, Sterling, Markovic
Wish I could watch this one. I think it's an interesting lineup.

So I'm guessing Sterling as LWB?

Wow - that's a very offensive line up. I think Rodgers is desperate to kick start some offense and this will either work great or fail spectacularly.

The solution to the midfield question is just to simply play all of them.
I do think 3 at the back is a stronger defensive shape, and can help mask our inefficiencies. Hopefully Toure can direct Lovren, although it's a shame that that is even needed.

Don't mind a back 3... Not thrilled about the personnel, but I'm glad to see Markovic start... I'd just hope he's in natural position...
See no reason why Gerrard needs to be starting today with all these matches coming up... Play Can dammit!

Gerrard starting is really my only gripe. Other than that I'm happy to see what looks like building on some of the ideas we saw at Utd.

I'd like Sakho to replace Lovren as the LCB too...
And personally, I'd still start Moreno at LWB...

Good start. Anyone watching? If so, how do we look? I've been listening to English commentary on the FotMob app, but it doesn't quite paint the picture.

More fluid in attack. I was worried about having Gerrard and Lucas as the only two CM's and without true wing backs as well. Looked good for the most part in the first half when we were able to control the game in their half. After our third goal, they came at us more and we're starting to explore our weaknesses without true wing backs and in the middle of the field, see their goal.
Can and Borini sighting but not much to say about them. I still want to see Markovic in a true winger role and Sterling was much better today in his finishing but still had one miss he probably should've buried.

watched second half (listened to first) and it was ok... we definitely were still a little shaky at the back..
Glad Markovic scored and was involved heavily today.. I'd like to see him played through the middle, but with Sterling, Coutinho and Lallana.. I think his minutes will come out wide, though he likes to drift into the middle.. his long term future is as a second striker/attacking mid

Yea I like him out wide cutting into the middle. He's still clearly not there yet, but showing more and more of the potential he has

I think our young talent can play, the issue is this is the Prem and time is not an option, millions are at stake. BR has shown an ability to build players offensively, I really wish we could get somebody to work with him on the defensive level. I have absolutely no confidence that he can fix our defensive issues.
