Ozil might seem lazy

Anyone who really watches him knows this isn't true. He's very smooth in languid in his movement, but he runs quite a bit and is constantly moving.

This team would be immensely better if we dropped Wilshere and Ramsey for a while, but other than Rosicky, we don't have anyone who can replace them. But frick watching them pisses me the frick off. Hollywood passes and dribbles, idiotic decisions time and again. It's been the whole season, but the Man U game just highlighted how poorly they've played.

It was showcased even more by how well Arteta played. He was fricking brilliant.

I really do think Ramsey's insane run of goals was terrible for him long term.

i would like to see jack play the pivot with arteta. But i guess that is just too much to ask.

I feel like ramsey is good making runs but keeps making bad decisions with the ball. And while hes making runs he gives us absolutely zero in defense on the counter and is huffing and puffing back. That is just a liability with our cbs rt now. they need some sort of protection and just having arteta, even though he played amazing, isnt going to cut it, and i really dont want to see flamini ever unless its a sub, or a crap one cup which hopefully he wont be around next time we have one.

I'd rather Ramsey and Wilshere stop playing like attacking midfielders, and play like central midfielders. The only reason we ever complain about Arteta is because of the way that Wilshere and Ramsey play. That their tendency is to get close to goal, and then play like a bunch of fricking assholes once they get there, is why the 4-1-4-1 doesn't work.

I'm arguing that we need a restrained, thoughtful approach to making runs to support the front players, with and without the ball. Wilshere and Ramsey can play the deep pivot role, but they have to swallow their pride and do what's good for the team, and not for themselves. We know they can do it together because they've literally done it before. That's what is infuriating. We have the solution right in front of us, but the players don't want it, so the manager doesn't want it. It's fricking madness, dictating tactics this way. It is fricking annoying.

Ramsey was quoted today as saying he's going to stop pressing so hard for goals. When he's at his best is when he's making tackles all over the field. Last year, he averaged 3.5 tackles per game. This year, 1.8. Literally half the work he was doing a season ago. Hopefully he gets back to that player, because that's when his goals come, runs from deep.

With all the attacking talent we have in front of him, we don't need him there. Hopefully he gets back to doing the dirty work.

Exactly, we needed his goals last year. That was a career anomaly. He isn't going to be the second coming of Lampard. He is a more talented Scott Parker and that is the type of player he should be.

I see him more like a British Arturo Vidal. Comparing him to Parker is a fantastic complement to Parker. I'm glad he has said that. When he's restrained in his movement he's brilliant. And that's the thing. He wasn't trying to get goals last year. He was simply moving into the space he was being offered. There's a massive difference. A late arriving midfielder can come onto the ball facing goal. An attacking midfielder must be adept at 360 movement. The only players we have who can move like that are Rosicky and Cazorla. Both Jack and Aaron are downhill players.

If Aaron keeps his game simple he's superb. Again he's a midfielder. When he was played in the hole for a year he struggled hard. Jack is better at playing in the hole but just doesn't release the ball quick enough. In that way he reminds me of Nasri, who only approached us considerable potential when he let go of his aspirations of being Zidane and accepted the wide forward role.

I did say he was a more talented version. Ramsey is a fantastic athlete. There is no doubting that.

I agree, the goals were organic and came through the run of play. Like I said, he isn't the next version of Lampard. He is much better when the game flows to him, instead of forcing action like he has done so far this season.

Arsenal's U19s defeat Dortmund 1-0 in their UEFA Youth League game today. Good omen for later today?

Saw quite a few BVB fans while I was in London yesterday.

Klopp and the team trained in Regent's Park this morning. LINK

Alexis Sanchez is a massive upgrade from RVP and Giroud. He is truly amazing at times.

Nice win.

We sure needed something good to happen.

Maybe things fall just right and we win group.

We beat Galatasaray and Anderlecht beats Dortmund. We'd be top of the group right now without the collapse against Anderlecht.

So frustrating, but very pleased to win today.

Streak continues
Clean sheet for Martinez
The players gave maximum effort and played fast today.

Most I've enjoyed watching a match all season. Ox is blossoming into a star. He deserved that wonderful half volley off the bar.

Injuries...bleh. Hope it's not too serious for Sanogo and Arteta.

The Ox has hit an incredible run of form in recent games playing on that right wing. After Alexis Sanchez, I would say he has been consistently our second best player over the last several weeks. He probably hasn't scored as many goals as what his performance deserves, but he has caused havoc with his pace, confident on the ball, terrorizing opposing left backs, making runs into the box, and setting up a number of opportunities for teammates.

Most Arsenal fans probably wouldn't agree with me on this, but I don't think you can just slot Walcott back into his place in the starting 11 once he is back fully fit with the way Ox is playing at the moment. I truly believe he is undroppable right now.
