Can anyone recommend some of the nicer apartment complexes that allow dogs in BR? I've always been able to find a nice garage apartment that allow dogs (I have a 40 pound mix), but striking out lately. I don't HAVE to move until September 1, but would like to find something for August 1.

Parts of town that I like are Capital Heights, Garden District, and downtown, but I think I may strike out on these areas before Sept 1. I am looking at the Riverview Condos tomorrow, but I haven't been able to get any reviews on them.

I need quiet, relatively safe, and away from the college crowds. I am a 30 year old female that is over partying. Obviously, decent maintenance/landlord is a plus. I have a pretty good budget (up to $1000/month).

I'm getting picky in my old age and prefer central A/C (no window units) and prefer no carpet, and updated appliances.

Any suggestions would be great, thanks!

Gates at Citiplace and Turnberry were the only 2 I found on this side of town that allowed large dogs. The reserve may, I never made it there.

Gates has carpet and old appliances though. Doesn't bother me too much but I'm hardly home and don't really cook. It's diverse but haven't had any issues with partying.

I'm bookmarking in case you find something downtown, that is what I originally wanted. I've come to like the location on corporate though, I walk to several places.

Bristol place allows dogs,30+ pound dogs must be on the first floor though, I'm contemplating signing a lease there. Tuscany villas and the park on bluebonnet allow pets too.

Most places will allow dogs. 40lbs shouldn't give you a problem unless there is an aggressive breed in the mix.

Reserve at cedar lodge is the reserve you want. The other one is tax credit.

I have a friend who owns two Riverview Condos.

Last time I checked was in 800s for 2br. Allows pets. I wouldn't live there b/c I have kids every other weekend but would recommend them for someone who works and plays downtown. Oh and make sure gate is working.

That's a good budget for a 1 bedroom. A 2, not so much.

Chateaux Dijon on Essen lane allows pets and I don't think that there is a weight limit. Its an older complex, but many of the residents are employees of CB&I (Shaw) and OLOL so it's a quiet place to leave. Great location too, although traffic can suck at peak times.

I used to live at The Highland Club apt off of Jefferson Hwy. It is quiet and dog friendly. I have a 40lb Brittany.

Rent a house in capital heights or Southdowns. A bunch of landlords would like to rent their places to exactly your type. There are a few houses around for $1100/mo, and you might be able to negotiate. Mine was originally $1350, and I got it down to $1250 by offering to cut the grass instead of having someone come do it

you don't have a high enough budget for that area

Riverview Condos

they look ok but the area around them is kind of different. lots of capital work yards and places that aren't busy at night. it is gated though.
