Atlanta's MLS team

I'm fairly new to soccer. My sister played it all the way to a college scholarship, but I never really invested time in learning about it.
I decided to follow this World Cup pretty closely and was blown away with how amazing the sport can be.
With that said I tried to find a European club to follow, but couldn't really connect with any of them.
So what I'm basically asking is-- Is the MLS good to follow? Since Atlanta is my hometown I figured it would be easy to find a reason to support the team when it gets here in 2017. I'm just trying to find more ways to learn about soccer

There are some great fan bases in Kansas City, Seattle, Portland, Philadelphia, Houston, and Toronto that make watching the games fun. TV ratings suck (hopefully they'll improve with the new TV contract) but better average attendance per game than NBA or NHL so there is a good atmosphere at the matches.
It's also a great way to follow many of players on the US Men's National Team.

I am glad that this spectacular World Cup has converted yet another person.
However, I would hate for you to dismiss European clubs at this point. I will assume that your interest in the sport piqued just this summer. You should wait until the domestic European leagues start. This will happen from mid-August to early September depending upon the league. Also, the UEFA Champions League is a great place to watch some of the world's best and most recognizable clubs compete against each other. My suggestion would be to watch games and see who's playing style intrigues you, and who naturally feels right to support.
But, if you like to make decisions based on jerseys, or kits as they are normally referred to, just look at these sexy motherfrickers:

That was my initial plan, but I didn't want to pick some crap team that would only break my heart more than my other ATL teams do. But I also can't just hop on a bandwagon that easily. I'll probably just watch some top european league games this year and go from there. The Bundeslinga? However you spell it has kind of caught my eye.

If heartbreak is not something you can withstand, then soccer is not for you. This sport is gut-wrenching, but the highs are outstanding as well. And I also understand part of the ATL woes that you go through, being a Braves fan myself.
The Bundesliga is a great league to check out. The styles of most teams in the league are very direct, technical, attacking football. Also, the league will be broadcast in the U.S. on Fox starting in the 2015-16 season, so that's something to help with exposure for new fans in the U.S.

I'm so excited to see Atlanta have a team finally. I've been wanting to get in to following the MLS for some time but I never had a team close by to be able to watch, and having grown up in the Atlanta it's perfect for me. Just wish I didn't have to wait until 2017 to see it.

The MLS is pretty fun to follow, although I've just recently started following it closely. Until the Atlanta team starts playing I'll probably be rooting for SKC, great crowd atmosphere and some familiar names from the USMNT.
I started following the BPL in the early spring this year but I haven't quite decided who to devote my fandom to, Everton and Man Utd were probably the teams that I most enjoyed watching.

I don't want to make another thread on "who to root for" since there have been so many already, so I'll just ask in this thread. Is Everton the team for me? I'm leaning toward rooting for Everton because they don't seem like a club that just spends more money than everybody in order to win, unlike teams like Chelsea and Man City. Of course I love Tim Howard and I think Ross Barkley is going to be pretty good in the near future, so this could be a fun team to keep track of.

Everton is a great team to pick. Martinez is an excellent coach and they have Howard and a lot of really good young players.
I'm an Arsenal junkie, but Everton is definitely my B team in the EPL.

There isn't a player on the roster that isn't likable. Unless you're a fan of a rival club, of course. We built our team from the bottom up (our U-18 squad won the U-18 Premier League title for instance) and we try to develop players rather than spend an endless amount. Not that buying a ton of good players is wrong, we're just using our resources just like every other team in the league.
With that said, we aren't a small club by any means either. With this new TV deal, we have more money to spend than we ever have.
And of course guys like Seamus Coleman and Ross Barkley make this a fun team to watch for sure. Seamus is considered a top five RB in the league and he pretty much came out of nowhere.
