So Baylor is unveiling the RGIII statue outside of Mcland Stadium on the 2014 home opener.

A 9.5-foot bronze statue of the school's first-ever Heisman Trophy winner will be installed in the south end zone plaza in time for the Bears' 2014 season-opener against SMU on Sunday, Aug. 31.

What's funny? He won a Heisman

I like RGIII, I really do, but this is stupid.
I could see doing it down the road, but he has only been gone for 2 years.

thanks to Josh Gordon.

It's not really surprising. Baylor has little football history, he helped put them on the map and won their first Heisman. He's probably the greatest athlete in Baylor history.

He has far from proven himself in the NFL

I don't have a problem with him getting a statue, but why so soon?

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Baylor only cares about what he did at Baylor

I understand why they're building him a statue and I'm not surprised, but they should really do one for Singletary too IMO if they're gonna do one for him.

I got no problem with it, but it probably would have been better to wait a few more years.

After RGIII had his one good season at Baylor and barely won the Heisman, sports media has shoved this guy in our face making us think he's best thing football ever got. What happened when he started playing big boy football? He got exposed and showed that he wasn't this almighty player that everyone expected him to be.
Giving him a statue after he's been gone for two years is way too soon.

He won a Heisman playing football for Baylor. No problem with him getting a statue.

What did Bear Bryant and Nick Saban do in the NFL?

The Redskins aren't putting up a statute.
