70-19 is absurd for any level of baseball in any time period.

I started keeping up with the Milwaukee Braves in 1957. Del Crandell, C; Joe Adcock, 1B, Frank Bolling, 2B, Eddie Matthews, 3b, Red Scheondist,ss...later got Roy McMilian.
Hank Aaron in RF. Warren Spahn was the best pitcher. Lou Burdette. Those were the days.

Lawrence William Gilbert (December 3, 1891 – February 17, 1965) was an American outfielder in Major League Baseball and a longtime manager in minor league baseball. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, who broke into baseball as a left-handed pitcher, Gilbert first became famous as a member of the 1914 "Miracle" Boston Braves.

First World Series to be attended by a sitting President. Wilson attended a game at the Baker Bowl in Philadelphia.

ETA: I'm wrong. 1915 series.

Warren Spahn- is the most under rated pitcher

Lou Burdette- "I'm the greatest pitcher that ever lived. The greatest game that was ever pitched in baseball wasn't good enough to beat me!"

Joe lived south of me... Coushatta, La. where he raised horses. Raced some at La. Downs in Shreveport.

Before helmets he took the biggest hit to the head with a fastball I've ever seen and still stayed in the game. He was also a great basketball player.

my god.

could you imagine if something like that happened in modern baseball? the closest thing we've had is the 2002 A's I guess, but they didn't cap it off. that's absolutely incredible in any era
