Thinking about going there in a couple of weeks. Anyone have any experiences to share? Good or bad. Thanks in advance.

Great spot. Get the burger. Will not disappoint. Shitty beer selection though.

I keep reading that the burger is amazing. I would love to have the burger but my girlfriend probably wouldn't eat that. Anyone have anything besides that?

Food is tasty, but on the heavy side...very filling stuff, not much on the light or delicate side. Service can be downright flaky--the restaurant is long and narrow, and the kitchen is at the far back, meaning that your waiter may not be readily visible or able to see you. So things can lag and you can be left wanting (refill, additional order, check, etc).

Thanks for the info. We were originally going to go to Domenica but they'll be closed for renovations. Any other recommendations if Luke isn't the spot?

The mussels and the Croque Monsieur sandwich are both amazing.
We stopped in drunkenly last week and while Jones was outside, I chose for him and ordered the burger. He sits down, orders a beer, chats my ear off, and then gets the check. Never took a bite of his burger (I don't know if he even noticed it). I get the burger boxed, and he gives it away to some random stranger

Found that out Monday when I tried to get a reservation for next week.
Oh well, guess I'll be hitting up Pizza Domenica for happy hour

In the same price point, I think Sylvain is one of the best restaurants down there. Outstanding food and awesome lively atmosphere. Feels like a bar, but serves food like an upscale spot. It's tucked away.. enter through the alley to the right.

I've never heard of Sylvain but it looks pretty cool. What did you have there?

Per the recommendation of this board, I got the sweetbreads app and I HIGHLY recommend them.
They're fried and served buffalo style, but the sauce is cut with cream so it's not a harsh buffalo sauce.
We really wanted the beef cheeks, but they were out.. so I got the roasted and stuffed Mississippi quail, and Jones got the Pappardelle Bolognese.
To visually help:
Beef Cheeks
Pappardelle Bolognese
Veal Sweetbreads
Mississippi Quail

This.
I really enjoy Luke, but I can only eat Pates every so often. Also, I feel their menu is better suited for the Fall/Winter.
OP- Luke is definitely worth a try if you come to town regularly.

the beef cheeks @ Sylvain are unreal; but I'm not as big on their sweetbreads as some. the sweetbreads at Bayona are 100x better. hell, even the Flaming Torch's version is better.
OP if you can get into Boucherie I think it's a better joint than Luke along a similar price level. same goes for La Petite Grocery and as already mentioned Sylvain.

That looks beautiful. Looking at the menu at Boucherie now, and those applewood smoked scallops sound amazing.

Agreed.
I think Root would be a nice option tonight.
