What could Rand accomplish as President with an R controlled Congress?

Let's say the unlikely happens and Rand wins in 2016, and has a 2 seat advantage in the Senate and R's control the House at the same advantage they have today.
What do you think Rand could accomplish?
I imagine he would get through some tax cuts or reform, undo Obama's many harmful Executive orders, and deregulate many industries to spur job growth. I feel comfortable he'd have no problem passing these since all R's agree on these policies.
What could he get done regarding....
Obamacare? Repeal? Reform?
Immigration?
Welfare/Corporate subsidies?
Weed legalization?
I think he would also be able to reduce the IRS, NSA, and EPA influence to at least pre Obama levels. I would like it to go back to pre 9-11 levels.

Depends on the makeup of the congress.
Is it establishment, libertarian, or tea party leaning?

He gets support of 18% of the black vote vs. HRC
Look on page 16.

The more HRC talks the better the chances we have a GOP president in 2017. Let's hope she get the Dem nomination.

Let's be realistic and say it's similar to the current makeup, percentage wise of each group.

Repeal Obamacare. End QE. Balanced budget. Keystone pipeline.

depends on how long they wait on the assassination attempt.

You get an up vote for a fun hypothetical.
If this were to happen I think the Republican Party would break in two. The Democrats would filibuster everything. Nothing would get accomplished, but I think most Rand supporters would be ok with that. I could see him opening the vault on secrets and corruption that would make Snowden blush.

Not nearly as much as I would hope.

Obamacare is about ambitious as it gets. It's got to get through the Senate and simple majorities aren't good enough anymore. Probably won't get enough Dems to agree to let it get to a vote.
That's the problem with the games being played in the Senate for the past decade plus...The other side gets in the minority and is bitter. Thus does all they can to gum up the works.

Simple majorities work for taxes of which john Roberts says O care must be

All that a tall order for any president to fill even with a "friendly" Congress. However, I think Rand's Congress wouldn't be so friendly on some of those issues. Would he resort to EOs to accomplish these things and continue down the dangerous path we've been on for the past 24 plus years.

You guys have put Rand Paul so high on a pedestal the crash will be spectacular. He's had 1 major campaign....in Kentucky. You think the Benghazi hearing are bad for Hillary? Paul was a guest on the Alex Jones show for Christ's sakes. The campaign hasn't even started.
I hope he wins the nomination (I really do like him - I might vote for him) but I'd say there is a 1/20 chance he gets it. There are still a lot of evangelicals/social conservatives in the Republican party. Just b/c you've deemed social issues to be irrelevant, it doesn't mean the rest of your party has.

Maybe reform, I don't see a repeal without a supermajority, unless it's a backdoor repeal by defunding or somesuch. A lot of people hate it, but you've got several million people benefiting from it now. And like it or not, if you try to take it away, those people will be energized. (Aside: It will be very interesting if Habig v Sebelius rules for the plaintiffs. If you knock those same several million off the insurance rolls, they'll be vocal and vociferous. I haven't seen anyone consider this angle in any of the commentaries.)

Unfortunately, I don't see any of this happening. If Rand gets elected, he'll be the loneliest guy in Washington. I just don't see him having many allies once the sacred cows start getting threatened. He can keep us out of adventures overseas. That's the biggest thing he can do, and he doesn't need much help from Congress to do it.

Why would anyone thing a loon like Rand so out of touch with urban America could ever get elected?

Talk about get you head out of the sand. Nobody in New York thinks of Rand but anything but a loon trapped in the racist fifties with his head up his butt regarding foreign affairs. I would think this would apply to all or most urban centers. Maybe in redneckville this isn't the perception.
Not saying its true. Just reporting no one takes him serious as presidential material after he went against the Civil Rights Act.
