I must have sprayed a half can of off on myself over the course of the day today. Still had three of them little bastards bite me today. These little creatures are right up there with love bugs on the list of creatures God could have done without.

DEET doesn't work well for ticks. You need to use something with Permethrin. I use Sawyer, works great. Have to spray it the day before and let dry on clothing, but worth the extra work.

I am a big fan of Permethrin. Use that shyt all the time.

Spray yard and it keeps skeeters out WAY better than Malathion. I also spray around house (exterior). Spray car port and there are not skeeters.

As much as I hate ticks, chiggers are worse. I despise those little bastards!

if you get chigras (cant say chiggers any more)... Just dump a box of arm and hammer baking soda in your bath water...soak about 30 minutes. no more chigras.

Achey joints, tiredness, headaches, etc...

From WebMD
quote:

In the early stages of Lyme disease, you may experience flu-like symptoms that can include a stiff neck, chills, fever, swollen lymph nodes, headaches, fatigue, muscle aches, and joint pain. You also may experience a large, expanding skin rash around the area of the tick bite. In more advanced disease, nerve problems and arthritis, especially in the knees, may occur

I came home one day with 13 ticks on me, but nothing sucks like chiggers. I had to go to the walk-in clinic to get a shot and meds I had them so bad once

Permethrin is the ONLY thing that really works for ticks. They're god awful up here.

Thanks Brad Paisley.

I've had ticks out the wazoo, even had a big dog tick in my belly button once, but nothing is as bad as chiggers. I took my kid to the deer camp in North La last weekend and we got ate up. I'm kinda glad we did because it was his first experience with red bugs and he got bitten by his first tick.

Have you tried soaking your clothes in permethrin?

I've heard it works good. Haven't tried it yet.

Lymes disease doesn't exist in the south, it's a northern disease.

Now there are many other tick born diseases that exist south of the Mason-Dixon Line, but not lymes
