Or NO for that matter? Just don't see them or hear any chatter. I haven't searched them out though so I'm just curious. Has this fad played out? If not do they still have their Wed night roundup?

Well I just looked at the Roundup website and I don't see any of those around anymore. Maybe Taco de Paco and the CC Coffee Truck.

Just a couple years ago we had a weekly thread, a dozen trucks and it was in all the national media as well. Seems to have died down a bit.

the "city council", etc, (snicker, snicker) over in mecca is "investigating and exploring" the possibilities of this type of endeavor.

in other words, they are seeing how much money the mayor and his con stitch you ants can milk.

They never seem to have figured out the concept that people aren't going to drive to your food truck. Hang out near businesses during the work day. The cupcake truck has started to park in front of City Court every Monday and seems to be doing pretty well.

subscribe to the "MyHouse" emails in New Orleans and you'll get a weekly email about where the food trucks are rounding up this week as well as about community events. Most of the "MyHouse" events also serve beer and have a live band to benefit some neighborhood charity group. I hit those up almost once a week when I lived down there.

In BR, food trucks are dying because the most successful ones like Fresh (one location downtown and another coming soon near Town Center), Curbside (Barcadia in New Orleans and another opening up near LSU), the Pizza one (New Orleans), 3 Bones (set up in a BR bar not sure which one), ect) are all opening up restaurants and new trucks haven't taken their places.

And good for them. The concept works in real metro cities very well (Nyc, LA, ect) because of the walk ability. For me to get in my car and drive somewhere to park, walk, and eat off my hood just doesn't appeal to me. With food and travel shows making foods trucks known it became a trend in smaller cities but in the long term will not last. I do see it as an affordable way I test a concept and see if it works and then move into a brick and mortar place

Actually, BR's lack of walk-ability and drive-ability makes food trucks perfect. All they have to do is set up shop in downtown near the square or on north street near the government offices, in United Plaza near the Shaw building, in one of the hospital parking lots, or right outside of a chemical plant/refinery and they'll have plenty of business. The key is to either advertise it constantly the day before (maybe put up signs saying you'll be there) or to develop a routine that workers can rely on (every Tuesday they show up here for lunch). The other issue is that BR trucks don't set up for lunch as often anymore. So basically, they're doing the opposite of everything they should be doing to get business and develop loyal followings.

Well I don't search much and I guess I just missed it. Then again I don't look at many of your threads anyway so I guess I would have to search. In fairness I'll thank you for pointing out that had I searched I would have found your recent discussion.

I clicked the link and read your riveting review about the "wround" up at Webb Park.

Then I read the second post were R2R pretty much ripped your arse.

I chuckled and went no farther. Hope you got him back.
