Near Melville. Not sure when this was. That looks like the railroad tressel in Melville though. I've always known they were there, but this is the first picture I've seen.

Can we assume its a bull shark?

Holy hell, those are some resilient frickers.
What are they eating that far north? How can they see in mucky as water?

Not 100% sure, but that looks like the Krotz Springs trestle to me. Not that it makes a whole lot of difference.

Just heard from a friend who knows the guy who caught the shark. Looks like it was Melville.

Crazy. Am i wrong for wondering when our moral superiors on the OB will arrive to call the guys who caught it pussies for capturing/killing an animal that posed no threat to anyone?

I grew up in the Melville area and know him as well. Both tressels look about the same though

just eyeballing it on maquest, it looks to be about 50 miles inland as the crow flies....surely longer if you trace the river from mellville to its mouth, though...

More than 50 miles, that is 45 miles north of I-10...

Melville is in the next parish over from me. My Gf lives in that same parish.
Not surprising that someone I know also knows that guy.
The world gets smaller every day with technology.
