“We are very optimistic,” head coach Jurgen Klinsmann said. “Every day is a big step forward with Jozy. It’s been 11 days now, and it’s looking better every day. We’re optimistic we’ll have him be part of the Belgium game.”

Great news. If he plays that battle against Kompany could be awesome to watch.

I think he may be blowing smoke to keep the Beligians honest and have to account for him in their gameplan, but I sure do hope I'm wrong.

I'll be shocked if he plays, and if he does ill be shocked if he doesnt immediately re-injure it.

would be cool if he can go though.

If he gets to play, I doubt it'll be for the whole 90 minutes.

I think if he plays, we have to start him.

We can't afford to use two subs to put him on and then off after he reinjures it, which I think is very possible.

That said, I think he's done for this World Cup. But I hope I'm wrong and he wins the Golden Boot. Hat tricks from here on out.

Or three or six. This may just be gamesmanship. And then again....

Hamstrings are up there with the high ankle sprain and pulled groin for shite that takes forever to heal. You will hear for a good month a player with one of those injuries is on the verge of coming back each game only to sit the bench.

I'm on week FIVE of a pulled groin. It's good times.

Go ahead and add hip flexors to that list. I went through about six months of "Oh, I think it's finally healed, let me hit this cross. *thwack* Nope..... back to a heap on the ground."

It sounds more like Jurgen is playing German mind tricks with Belgium, so they second guess setting up their tactics for a false #9.

Would love to see him out there, though I don't think it will happen. We are a much more serious scoring threat with him in. I'm actually amazed at the offense we've been able to generate without him, particularly against Portugal. I think if that injury never happens, we probably go undefeated with the wins against Ghana and Portugal and a draw against Germany.
