What are some charitable organizations that you donate to for tax purposes?

I do not donate to any of them "for tax purposes" but the ones i do donate to (st Jude,)i make sure and get a receipt for and claim on my taxes

Google "exempt organizations select check" and you should get a irs site where you can search.

Church, Food For the Poor, St. Jude Hospital and local Food Bank. Stick cash in the Salvation Army Kettle at Xmas.

I stopped all other donations because I think that the organizations were selling my name and I was being inundated.

How about your alma mater? You can donate to the LSU Foundations scholarship funds....or the campus live oak endowment.

Do you have any charities in mind? The net effect of donating money and taking it off on your taxes is you're still out money.

True, but I would much rather donate it to a good cause than the fricking government. I already donate to a few charities for orphans and such, just wondered what other people donate to.
