God damn I hope Germany and the US go for the draw. It will make no sense for either team to play for anything other than a draw. Literally no sense.

I like the idea of the United States "taking care of business," but boy do I hope Portugal shows up on Thursday in some form of another.

Besides the fact that you can be all "let's draw bros," and then the other team can accidentally score and you're stuck playing Belgium.

It's most likely that these teams go at each other for 60 minutes then chill the frick out after if the game is tied and let it ride.

Here's a CSB for you:

One time in high school, we were playing at a tournament and the other team was instructed not to go past midfield against us. Literally didn't have a single guy who crossed midfield. We scored a goal and then passed the ball back to our keeper who just juggled it while everyone else sat down the rest of the time.

Who are a very beatable team. First off I don't know how you accidentally score. Second both teams cam play super conservative and not even threaten the goal mouth.

This can come down to a coin toss?

I don't see the "draw conspiracy" happening for a few reasons:

1. West Germany essentially did the same thing in 1982 with Austria. The German people hated it.

2. Löw, Germany's manager, would look bad drawing against Ghana AND the USA. I think if Germany wasn't the world power it is, the conspiracy would be more likely.

Why risk it if you're Germany? Just take care of business.

Because even with a draw you win the group.

It's not going to be a "hey let's draw"

It's going to be a conservative plan by each team most likely and if it's tied very late on, the game will slow down to a crawl.

I think HH's scenario is the most likely. 60 mins of hard play and the cruising the rest of the way if each team is tied.
