Do you believe this from a 2014 BMW M3.

This tuner claims a stock 2014 BMW M3 dyno's 424 rwhp. BMW advertises 425 HP at the crank.

Then the tuner did an ECU upgrade adding 6psi of boost and ran a 12.2 125mph 1/4mi

I'm not believing shite a car tells me unless it's KITT or Optimus Prime.

I believe it. BMW has been conservative with rating their turbos due to heat soak. Who wouldve thought ten years ago a M3 would have over 400 ft lbs of tourque for 2000 rpms. Imagine what it could do on 93 octane!

Pretty impressive dyno. Especially the torque at 3 and power at 5. I bet it's fun to drive.

Not sure I'm buying that.

The dyno, maybe...but dynos can fluctuate based on a lot of variables.

The 1/4 mile time, I'd like to see a slip (didn't click the link if it's there). 12.2 out of a tuned M3 presumably on stock tires? I don't know about that...

I say yes. Adittional 6 lbs of boost and he is using E20 gas. That is twice the amount of ethanol than usual. The additional octane and the dyno tuned ecu getting the most out of the air/fuel ratio. Much more torque and he better get ready to upgrade the drivetrain. Sweet ride.

The 125mph trap speed is very questionable. Thats more of a 11.5 or better 1/4mile, even with the slow 60'.

From my memory of the racing days the boosted cars always had the higher trap speeds with the slightly lower ETs. That is, those that spent money only on the go fast but not the suspension etc.

Hold up. They didn't physically run the car on a 1/4 track, so that 1/4 mile time is useless. They just ran a 1/4 mile when it was strapped to the dyno = 0 wheel spin = not real world.

Different brand dynos will give a wide range of answers.

Was waiting for someone to figure it out.

Thought the second graph was from a laptop during an actual track run. Oh well.

I mean, if it's really making those kind of numbers at the wheels, 12.2-12.5 is definitely possible...but you'd need good air, good driver, no headwind, and a dead hook.

425 at the wheels in a 3500 lb car should net low 12s. I know a guy who ran 12.4 in a stock 2011 Charger SRT8...figure that's about 425-450 rwhp in a 4500 lbs car.
