little bit of year old gas in my boat tank

I have about a 13 gallon tank. There is maybe .5 to 1 gallon of gas in the tank. I cant remember if I treated the gas or not. it smells a little bit but isnt horrible. would you just try to fill the tank and maybe put some treatment in it or try and suck the remaining out?

If you can get it out easy it wouldn't hurt. I would just take the like of the motor and hold the ball at the end of the line in and pump it into a bucket with the bulb to get it out. But honestly I would run it in a heartbeat. Just top it off to dilute it first.

I would try to drain it and drain the fuel lines as well. Then I would treat the new gas to try to clean out the lines better.

I'd fill it up. It should be fine.

I'd pump it out into a gas can and run it in the law mower or something. No sense in being cheap about a half gallon of gas. Just unhook the fuel line from the motor and use the primer bulb to pump it into a can.

a half gallon in a 13 gallon tank is not gonna be a problem at all, IMO....if you can get it out easily, I would do so, but if not I would put in enough stabil for 13 gallons and run it after topping off with fresh gas....

Fuel at boat launches is loaded with water half of the time. I'd run it

Sounds like you need the magic of Seafoam.
Seriously, as suggested, I would pump it out, add a can of Seafoam and fill it (especially if you haven't run it in a year).

I'd probably just run it. Sounds like a pain in the arse to get out.

I would just fill it up with fresh gas and treat that.

I just did this with some "duck season" gas and my yama dog ran like a champ

I'd be less concerned with the gas in the tank than what has been sitting in the lines and carb.

This. The stuff in the tank will be fine once diluted but if you can clear the lines first I'd do that.

Put in a can of carb cleaner additive and fill with super unleaded Ethanol free and go fishing.

I filled it up with ethanol free, put some marvel mystery oil, and some stabil marine. I then cleaned the carbs and ran some gas thru the lines to clean them out.
started up well and ran in my barrel with no problems. we will see how she does in the river tomorrow. I put in 11 gallons so it was probably a little over a gallon left in the tank.

Fuel at boat launches is loaded with water half of the time.
They have what they call "water tape" which is a cream colored putty or tape they put on the bottom foot or so of the stick. This turns red if it contacts water.
By this they can tell if there is water in the tank and if so how much water is there. When the water builds up to a few inches they get a pump on it and draw the water out.
