In the past, it's always been done behind closed doors.

They meet at 2:00 PM EST. They will conduct the whip vote right after the Majority leader vote IF McCarthy wins. Otherwise, he just stays in place.

Well, that's understandable, I suppose.

I just looked on TV and it said the vote will be held at 2:00 Eastern time in a GOP meeting, so that's in a private meeting, not C-Span public.

Or a representative from someone's state is in the running for Whip.

I don't have the time to watch House of Cards honestly. I've managed to watch 7 episodes of it since February.

Speaking of cards, Stutzman may be holding the important ones and may well play the role of kingmaker this afternoon.

Pretty awesome to have a Louisianan in such a high ranking position. He is now the 2nd highest ranking member in history of the Louisiana delegation to Congress.

I have no doubts that Mr. Scalise will be a great strong conservative voice in DC.

I saw that even some of the Democrats in state legislature were tweeting out in support of him.

From what I understand, they worked hard for it but they were very confident that they could do it. On a first ballot to boot. Congrats to him and his team.

He whipped the votes to get him, hopefully he is as effective in getting support for solid conservative legislation.

Imagine all the ways he and Mary, as Senate Energy Chair, can work together
