Got my new Yak for Fathers day, blows my Malibu out of the water.

I'm 6'4" #330 and I can stand and do Mr Miyagi kicks in it. The deck is clean and huge and all of the Jackson's have some pretty amazing features.

I stayed in the high position all day the other day and she was faster than i though she would be, I do need a longer paddle though, 250~260 range I'mguessing.

Nice ride. However, you should be banned for not posting standing pics in a Big Rig.

BTW, I use 250cm in my Big Tuna and it feels perfect. Not only does it paddle well for me buts also perfect length for my to SUP (6'-1"). I had a problem finding longer paddles in stock in BR. Massey's ended up getting some Werner Skagits in stock at 250cm.. I had to buy two so im glad they didnt kill me. Skagit is carbon shaft with fiberglass blades.

I have Malibu and looking to upgrade to a Jackson. I've been looking at the Cuda & Cruise mainly b/c I want a smaller lighter boat. Do any stores stock Jackson yaks ? I'm in NOLA but would drive a few hours.

Masseys. They have one on N. Carrollton in N.O. and another off Veteran's in Metairie. Also have one in Covington.

If you really want to travel though, you could also go check out Pack & Paddle in Lafayette

I know the Massey's in Metairie doesn't stock boats. Will run over to the one in mid city at lunch. Thx.

I thought the paddle looked a little small

Where did you purchase and did they recommend a paddle size? I remember talking to John @ Pack and Paddle in Lafayette and him saying 260-270 is the recommendation for the Big Rig (all dependent on your height) If in doubt, call em up and ask them- you don't want to buy a 250cm and realize after than you should have gone with the 270cm, as a lot of places won't take returns after they have been used!

I got mine at Sunjammer's in Panama City. (Closest to Dothan) My old paddle was prefect for the x factor, and probably would have been almost fine in the low seating position. But with the raised seat it was just to much hand repositioning with each stroke. I get bending branches through promotive.com so I'll probably get a 260 from them.

In this situation with my wife's D10T. That's a wide sonofabitch. Might have to give her my 270cm paddle and take back my 250?cm one for my FS12T.

If I get into Yak fishing, I think I'd get a Cuda

My tracks

MyTracks

I bought it a while ago, have no idea about why the pricing is like that now, theres one that they talk about on here every now and then that sounds similar and doesn't look as shady.

A fishing yak would be a great accessory on top your ride.
