Islam has had a boot on their neck for centuries, buddy. Powerless to carry out the mandate of their Prophet. They are rising up now; and there is only one way to deal with it.

Bin Laden spelled it out: "The West loves life...we love death".

The Shah was taking all of the money from oil and giving none of it to the people. He was hated by the people and America was best friends with him. They revolted because they had enough of being used and didn't want to be westernized because they viewed what happens over here as sinful. shite got out of hand and they chose the wrong leader and regret it. The average person over, especially those in college love America and want to make peace. It's the ayatollah and his nazi irgc that hate America. It's a one sided hatred. If Iran truly wanted peace we would be down.

Humans being humans. We are a fricked up suicidal species, unfortunately. And the jewels of humanity like an Einstein or Gandhi are too few and far between. As long as religious ideology exists on this planet, humanity will never transcend it's challenges. That fact history has shown us without a shadow of a doubt.

So, Jesus' "religious ideology"...is the problem? Looks more to me like it's the inability of humanity to act on that Gospel of Love.

Mud on the evolutionary wall.

No they do not. "They are rising up now, and there is only one way to deal with it..."

Bin Laden is a Wahhabist (read extremist Sunni), not a Shiite. The Shiites are rising up only because Syria was attacked by Wahhabist mercenaries. Shiites are much, much more tolerant toward Christians and Judaism. Extremist Sunnis despise all Christians and Jews, as well as other Islamic sects they disagree with.

YEAAAA, no.

Unless you think leading the masses into starvation mode due to your idiotic economic ideals make you a 'jewel of humanity'.

Plus if religion were the problem, Communist countries would be the most peaceful nations in history.

The theocracy has the guns.

Everyone else is largely okay with us. It's really a government thing, and they were somewhat fortunate to have survived the unrest of several years ago.

You have it all backwards. It's the U.S. that won't let bygones be bygones over the hostage crisis, which is why we've been hell-bent on using sanctions to wreck their economy, not to mention supporting Saddam in a war against them that Saddam started, and shooting down an Iranian passenger airliner and refusing to even apologize for it.

Far as I can tell, it's two reasons.

1) The Iranian Oil Bourse - A real threat to the Petro Dollar.
2) Central Bank - Iran is one of only three left not controlled by a criminal international banking system (Cuba and North Korea are the other two).
Pre-2000 there were seven (Afghanistan, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Cuba, North Korea, and Iran). It's just coincidence, I'm sure, that these are the very countries that we are told house terrorists/and or evil dictators.

ETA: It's about money. It's ALWAYS about money.

Bingo. We've been screwing around with Iran for decades, and frankly they have a right to hate us. But if you listen to US and Isreali propaganda, we should be hating them for any number of reasons. Majority of the people in Iran are peaceful. At one time, and it may still be the case, Iran had one of the highest Jewish populations in the Middle East, even higher than Israel. I think most have fled though.
