Any divorces have experience selling a diamond wedding ring? My wife has hers from a previous marriage and we're trying not to get raped on the resale. She's tried a web site "i do now I don"t" I think is the name, but only had one interested party. Pawn shops will only give pennys on the dollar. Any ideas?

If you have all of the grading paperwork you can bring it to a jeweler. They will display it in their store and take a percentage when it sells

Give it back to her ex-husband. Shows him you don't need to sell his stuff to make her happy.

Is it a good quality diamond with a certificate? Then you might be able to get 50% of retail on ebay for craigslist. Without they perhaps 25%...

Well, he cheated on her so fat chance of that.
It's a decent diamond with all the proper paperwork and grading. Might try Ebay.

honestly unless you find the perfect buyer, its value is scrap gold and loose diamond value. Like asked, is it certed? if so, shoot me the specs and I can tell you what wholesale cost is for it. as for gold, weigh it and figure out its scrap value

My GF tried an online consignment. It's a good system and they were cool but it didn't sell after several months so she toik it to different jewelers and sold it to the best bidder. They handed her 15k/50% value.

Have a jeweler make something different out if it.

You could go this route and act indecisive...then offer it to the jeweler if has ideas. It won't be full value, but if the diamond is legit they'll be able to sell it to someone.

Is it a princess cut?

Have you considered putting it up for auction on eBay?

You can put a floor on the amount to protect yourself from being low-balled in an auction.

You'll be lucky to get 50% of retail

Eta: unless you insure it then it goes "missing"
