A good fishing hat is as necessary as a good pair of polarized sunglasses IMO. Tilley is backed by a lifetime warranty, and they'll replaced it at 50% off if lost or stolen within the first 2 years. It is a 75-90 dollar hat depending on which one you get. Anyone here own one and if so would you say it was worth it?

Can't really find a bad review.

Pros: lightweight, water repellant, breathable mesh slits on top, it floats, dual wind cord, lifetime warranty

Cons: price, ?

Well they make you look like you know what you're doing, but I have survived on a visor just fine

I have one and it's exactly what I need. I have fair skin and so the broad brim protects my ears and temples. It lets air flow across the top of my head. It has front and back side straps so it doesn't fly off when I'm running the boat. It floats so when it does come off it is retrievable. For me it was worth every penny. Of course it also makes me look like a dork. That's got to be worth something.

If I could add one feature to the hat it would be to add a snap on the very front of the brim so that I could snap the front of the brim up when running in the boat. Sometimes it flops down over my eyes when going over 20 in the boat.

Maybe it has to do with flatbills? I wear a visor or a normal curved brim hat.

I have one and love it for working outside, makes me look like a dork? hell no, i looked like a dork well before putting the hat on. I have had it for several years and it is nearing its end of life, and I will replace it

Dude, it's handcrafted with Canadian Persnicketiness. That doesn't come cheap.

If you appreciate the finer things, yes. Excellent hat in the sun and even better in the rain.

Love mine.
Used Colombia's but when they get wet they fold down over your head. the Tilley doesn't do that.

I've had an OR like this for several years and its been great. Manily use it when we are at the beach. It performs excellent. I swim with on and it dries quickly, does not get deformed. I've never gotten face burn while wearing it.
