Incredibly tense movie. Wife had to stop watching. Made even more intense knowing it was based on actual events. It's one of those movies which is difficult to put out of your mind.

Figured you would have picked a different movie to watch with Mark. Was he cool though?

I would've watched Three Kings with him.

I would have watched Basketball Diaries or Boogie Nights with Mark.

I would've watched The Other Guys with him

I shed quite a few tears for this one. It's not your typical action flick, its a movie that portrays real life shite and it does a great job of showing what a hell on Earth war can be and why it should be avoided at all costs.
This movie only strenghthened my resolve and desire to GTFO the shite hole the world calls the Mideast. I'm tired of losing American lives to that evil place.

I haven't seen the movie yet but the book was incredible. Definitely worth reading

I would have tied the old man and the two boys together then sent them down the mountain. That way they could still get back but the teenage taliban soldier couldn't have hauled arse liked he did.

Let's be real, they should of just killed them.

Really a great movie. Very intense and realistic. The photos at the end got me.

They could've done that or something else. Cutting them completely loose was stupid. But then this wouldn't have happened. Which means there wouldn't be a movie we could criticize from the comfort of our couches

Goes to show you war sucks. Remember that conversation where they debate killing them, but knew they'd get in deep shite for doing so?
Well, this ideal of "humane war" really fricked those guys on that option.

The movie was very good but I had already read the book which was outstanding. I got upset several times reading the book.

I get that. I'm just saying cutting them loose completely was dumb. If taking them back to the extraction point with them wasn't an option, I would've tied them together and made them walk down the mountain that way. They'd still get back down the mountain to the Taliban, but not that quickly. But I wasn't there so it's easy for me to say they were wrong

Have the book, signed by the man himself
Great movie, highly suggest reading the book however as the film doesn't do the entire story justice.
