Eight candidates were vying for the Democratic nomination for Nevada governor, but the winner wasn’t even on the ballot. With over 20,000 votes, 30% of all cast, “none of the above” was the clear winner in Tuesday’s primary.
That was 3,600 votes more than the “winner” – former State Economic Development Commissioner Robert Goodman, Fox News reports. Ouch. That’s gotta hurt.
Nevada allows its voters to select “none of the above” in elections for President and statewide office. The last time “none of the above” received the most votes was 1976, in a Republican primary for U.S. Congress.
Goodman will face incumbent Gov. Brian Sandoval in November, who is expected to easily win reelection.
What does this say about candidates for office? To admit that any of the Democratic candidates did not inspire the confidence of voters would be a bit of an understatement. If they want to be successful, Nevada Democrats need to do some serious soul-searching before the next election cycle.

Would be awesome if this were an option for every political office.

I can assure you I will not cast a vote for an incumbent on any national level election for the next three cycles. Every single person currently earning a living off of my dime needs to join the unemployment ranks immediately, IMO.

Shouldn't None Of The Above be the D nominee, and have the opportunity to face Sandoval in November?

Not possible when you see polls that say Obama still have over 40% approval rating. I can't believe in an America where 40% of any sector could approve of this shitshow. I don't care if the poll is taken in downtown Compton.

There is a significant portion of our population that believes Obama hasn't done enough to advance the left agenda.

Things are a little different when you leave Louisana, we are very insulated here.

I'd say the opposite. The Kool-Aid drinkers are insulated from reality. We fully understand the damage being caused by Obama's policies.

I would vote 'none of the above' every single time, given the opportunity.

If only that meant that that particular office would be eliminated.

Not 40%. His approval ratings are bolstered by the fact that 90% of blacks approve of his job and that's based simply on race. Take that out of the equation and his approval ratings are about at Bush's approval at the end of his term. Basically the far left + blacks approve of him.

While funny, did I read it correctly that voting none of the above didn't do anything?

It should at least require another election, in this case, a redo of the primary. Even better if it required that none of these candidates could run again in that second election.

Harry Reid is their real governor anyway. He controls the machine there, or they control him. Whatever same thing.

Could you please list the damage, in specific terms, caused by his policies?

This right here is a winner idea.

Just have to figure out how to get it implemented...
