He wasn't ever going to be fully fit in time. Greismann at 100% is better than Ribery at 75%. Greismann could possibly be this tournaments version of Ribery in 2006.

Has the idea of starting the European club season a month earlier and ending it a month earlier during WC years ever been seriously considered? As big as the WC is not many concessions are made for it in terms of scheduling. Well unless Qatar oil money bribes FIFA officials into doing so.

I think it would be very difficult. So many competitions going on.

Well we are likely to have a mid-season WC in 2022, so there you go.

Yea that's what I figured. It's just a shame we wait four years for this and teams are losing elite players simply bc of the grind of the club season

Probably good for the French as Ribery normally sucks for the national team.
