How is it that I'm hearing Deichmann is/was projected to be a 1st round pick yet Baseball America has him ranked #404? Are their projections taking into account his signability?

So this is the time we can wish less-than-the-best for some of these guys, right?

Many people say many different things in regards to where they feel a player is ranked against the rest of his class. I've always felt he was a 2nd-3rd round talent but with the way other players are having superb seasons at his position and the way it's been known for awhile now that he has a strong commitment to LSU that would be the case for them tabbing him at #404.
Deichmann's pre-draft stock is very similar to Bregman's...he could still get a call 2nd to 3rd round from a team and depending on what transpires in that call will tell if he's selected early or slips well into the draft.

brady is going first round imo

I've heard some rumblings around maurepas about Kade leaving early. I hope it's just rumors.

Deichman's stock was down before he announced LSU

deichman is the perfect kid to sign. low chance of him being a top 2 round pick, but has the ability to be a first rounder after 3 years in college as well as being an impact freshman.
same with Marshall. he's basically the same as Gausman and Lee

Yeah, baseball is weird that way. Other sports (football, basketball, etc.) have their drafts after our guys are gone for good, so we want them to go as high as possible. With this, it's definitely more mixed feelings.
Hard to say too much with certainty right now, Nola is the only current player that I feel confident isn't coming back. Others may leave too (Broussard, Moore, etc.) but they have a more realistic shot at coming back, so I'll wait and see with them. I don't know enough about the signees to comment, but hopefully we get as many of them on campus as we can!

Not surpised, always thought there was a small chance kade could leave. Although he probably wont be drafted high

Does he ever contribute anything of worth?

If the rumors are true about Moore leaving, Kade could really stand to benefit by coming back another year. He and Chinea would be our only real options at catcher.

I have been looking forward to this thread, Adam

What area of the draft is Broussard expected to get taken?
Posted on 6/5/14 at 1:25 pm to Adam4848
First I have heard of KS leaving

I threw this together yesterday for an idea of the future. Classes would be for next year's class obviously, so some of these guys won't be on the team in 2015 should they sign. I excluded Nola and Broussard since they are basically 100% gone.
