The New York Metropolitan area will soon see a massive, $335 million berm along Manhattan’s Lower East Side

The Big U is a protective system around Manhattan, driven by the needs and concerns of its communities. Stretching from West 57th street south to The Battery and up to East 42th street, the Big U protects 10 continuous miles of low-lying geography that comprise an incredibly dense, vibrant, and vulnerable urban area.

My flight from Boston this past Sunday flew right over it and Philadelphia. That was pretty neato.

Guess its time to move back into Orleans parish partner. Get with it. You can replace some of these undesirables. Do a homestead swap.

The Lake Borgne surge barrier was $670 million/mile for "just a wall." $335 million is chump change for surge protection. Delta Works in the Netherlands was north of $7 billion.

You people and your Isaac/Corps flooding. That flooding had been warned for years. St. John chose to dick around instead.

They shouldn't live in such a low-lying area.
