Is amberjack season still open this weekend? I know they usually close this during federal snapper season.

Is an offshore landing permit required for everyone on the boat?

I'd be out there in my 21' but my friend can't go down to Venice/Grand Isle so we gonna hit the MRGO and the closer rigs

I am not sure if they need yhe permit but they have an app for the offshore landing permit. If everybody has a smartphone they can download the app and get the permit.

We had to tow in a 22' blackjack that broke down about 60 miles out. We let the mom and 2 kids ride in the A/C. made the dumbass dad and his friend stay back in the 22'.

Single engine boats have no business being that far out.

This sounds like something that would happen to somebody I know who owns a 22' blackjack but would not tell anybody about it. When was this?
