I've got to go out of town for work tonight and would like to watch the game on my iPad or laptop. Called the Atlanta Hilton and the rep had no idea if the ESPN3/Watch ESPN app would work there, but did say their wifi is provided by AT&T. Anyone else ran into this and what was your experience?

I know there is another thread on ESPN3 but figured this would get buried and lost.

BTW...I know I can stream it LTE on my iphone, but I'll burn through my remaining data in an hour if I stream the video.

Thanks guys.

I use AT&T, so you should be good. You probably won't be asked to log in.

For the WatchESPN app, if you can connect to wifi, you should be good to watch it on your phone. Just make sure you know your cable provider log in info

You can log in using your home provider to access it from another location.

I watched game one at the Hilton in Destin but I had to give my Dish account log in info when I went to ESPN3.

I'm at a hotel right now out of state and have been watching the games.

Most of the time the watchespn site asks you to verify your access to the content when you are connecting a new location. For me I log into my cox account and then I can watch the games irrespective of the hotels actual internet provider.

I didn't realize this was a thing anymore. Aren't unlimited data plans available?

BTW you should be fine.

My understanding is it doesn't matter who you connect through for the wifi, you still have to have an account from a valid provider to log in. If you can watch it from your phone I assume you have a valid account so as long as you can connect through wifi you should be good.

So I have just been traveling for work for the past month, all hilton sites. You need about 1.5-2 Mbps to be able to stream without buffering every few seconds. This is important because when you go and sign into the hilton/att internet, it gives you like 3 options.
Hilton HHoners Membership - 2.5-3 Mbps,
Complimentary internet-.9 Mbps
Coupon Code/Promo Code - 2.5-3 Mbps (usually written on your room card sleeve

So Just make sure you dont sign in with the complimentary internet and you will be fine.

Great advice.

Now you just need a better hotel chain. Hilton is fine until you go to use points and see they want 20,000 for a Hampton.

I am not sure what you are thinking Hilton's internet is... Internet is internet. I have watched ESPN3 through internet at Hilton properties many times. No different than using it at home.

not in hotels, sometimes what you get in the rooms is pretty weak/slow
