To really be heard, Snowden may have to be a martyr

I feel that that this country has almost just forgotten about this (which is terribly sad)...I almost feel that a trial is necessary...If he really wants to garner CNN attention. ..not saying he should or should not.

Careful. We have an admitted spook in the other thread who passionately supports data collection bin fact, it's a big part of his job. I think we can stop asking if the PT is on the government radar.

Once again...I am not advocating he comes back...but it could be as big as the O.J. trial.

he is probably a gov troll hiding what they are truly doing that is why he still is alive

Yourebprobably correct in that most won't see his point unless he came back and had a public trial. Unfortunately, no way the government makes his trial public so it would accomplish nothing.

The trial won't be public.
It'll be like the manning trial. Secretive.
More people have been prosecuted under the alien and sedition act under this administration than all other administrations combined, and the criteria for conviction is much more limited than that of a public trial.
The bottom line is our citizenry sucks. Our apathy is depressing. And the most transparent administration in history has been exactly the opposite.

quote:For the sake of Tom Clancy and other novelists who write volumes about this kind of stuff, how do we know Snowden isn't actually doing yeoman spy work for us over in Russia right now? He's got Putin's ear. Neo-Cold War double agents could very well ride again.
Snowden
Just speculatin'
