Looking for a place serving a good Bibimbap. Got me a hankering...

there's a place in fat city that's pretty good, Korea House.

Have not been impressed.
However, Little Korea on Claiborne at Toledano (between Louisiana and Washington) is pretty good.

Was not impressed with Korea House either. Maybe I just did it wrong but I have no desire to go back soon. Need to try little Korea, I'm just never in that part of town.

korea house is light years better than little korea.

That's it: those are the only two Korean places in NOLA.

Korea House is my favorite, but there is also a very good bibimbap of sorts at Three Muses. One of the owners is of Korean descent and they make some killer kim chi and serve it up in a bowl with rice and some slices of beef.
But go to Korea House, its awesome.

If you don't like Korea House in Fat City, you don't like Korean food.
I've been going for years, always good.

While admittedly, both pretty much constitute the extent of my exposure to Korean food (although, 3 Muses has a really good Korean Bowl on its menu), I couldn't agree with this more.
I really wanted to like Little Korea, but I thought it was pretty much awful. I dig Korea House, though.

Seems pretty mixed in here. I've only been to Little Korea and loved it. I'm curious to try Korea House though.

korea house is as good as any korean restaurant in chicago, not that chicago is a beacon of korean food, but it still has several good ones.

Chicago is also the 3rd biggest city in the US. If Korea House can keep up with them I definitely think it'll be good.
With that said Korean food (like Indian food) is a cuisine that people either love or hate. I, for one, love Korean food.
ETA: has anyone seen the Instagram pics that District Donuts has been posting lately of the bulgogi sliders and the Korean Kimchi Bimbimbap breakfast wrap?

It's pretty authentic. Last time I was there, the language barrier proved to be significant. I don't think I was served anything close to what i ordered

All the waiters at Little Korea are 2nd generation so they speak English well. I take it that Korea House is more difficult?

This is strange and I dont believe you.
The lady who runs the place speaks very good english, in fact she has given me a kim chi recipe on occasion. They have had the same American waitress almost everytime I have been there. And the menu has pictures all over it and is in English and has convenient numbers next to each dish.
User error it sounds like.

You're right, I'm lying about my service at a Korean restaurant because that's so logical. I had a Korean as my server. This may come as a shock to you, but they probably keep more than one waiter on staff.

Kim Chi recipe?? : drool :

You positive she is Korean or do all Asian people just look the same to you?
