Scott, along with Mike Dunleavy, is one of two confirmed candidates to have interviewed for the Los Angeles Lakers' head-coaching vacancy. Scott sat down with general manager Mitch Kupchak and vice president of player personnel Jim Buss on Tuesday, and was confident about how the meeting went.
"I don't feel I'm a very arrogant guy, but I feel like I am the perfect guy for this job," Scott told the "Max & Marcellus" show on ESPNLA 710 Radio on Thursday. "I got a great relationship with Kobe. I know the team, know the roster. I watched them all season long and I just think it would be a great fit."

They are also apparently interviewing Lionel Hollins.

Retreads are definitely the answer.

I mean Kobe is half dead so I think Lionel would work fine. They should just hire nobody and wait for Memphis to piss off another good coach

By all means, enjoy.
Enjoy running painful offense that lacks zero flow.
Enjoy a coach who has developed 1 solid player in his entire career as a head coach.
Enjoy a coach who think analytics are a joke and is constantly butting heads with the front office.
Enjoy some of the most head scratching rotations you have ever seen.
But hey we will dog cuss the players like crazy to make them play hard.

If Lionel was so great, why is he still without a job?

You're actually defending the grizz ownership? Kid is a douchebag

For firing a FO member? Seriously?
Leviens had two short stints in other organizations in the past too.
Everyone else is still in place in the organization.

You probably know more than me but letting a good coach leave and then practically letting another one leave is stupid. My friends who still live in Memphis say he's textbook douche

And yet still accomplished more than your current coach.

Lionel had too many run ins with the new front office to stay in place.

Joeger was Levien's guy. The owner rarely ever even spoke to Joeger. After deciding to fire Levien he allowed to Joeger to speak with Minnesota because it is where he is from and Flip Saunders is one of his mentors. Pera and Joeger spoke for a long time Saturday night about the direction of the franchise, which ultimately led to Joeger deciding to turn down Minnesota.

I wouldn't disagree with that

I agree with doing this as well, IF you have the right coach and players but that is a BIG if!

Meh, it is sort of the reason he still doesn't have a job. Analytics have taken over a huge role in the NBA in recent years.

I mean I definitely missed it at times last year. You at least never really had to worry about effort under Lionel.

I am sure they have but basketball is the one sport where it is VERY easy to tell who your best players are. If you have played at any high level, or even at a decent HS level, everyone knows who is the best player on each team at each position. Its not like baseball, ya know?

Pera -- who fancies himself a pretty good player -- challenged Tony Allen to a game of one-on-one. Allen, on Twitter, accepted.
Joerger, a first-year head coach, didn't like the idea of the game -- like many in the organization he found it goofy and unbecoming of a professional team, according to sources -- but it was Allen's indifference that caused it to be called off. Yet Pera directed his frustration at Joerger and, according to a source, directed upper management to fire him.
quote:
He began offering bizarre suggestions. He suggested Mike Miller, a longtime Grizzlies player who was re-signed in the offseason, could become a player-coach. He brought up the idea that Joerger could wear an NFL-style headset and take instructions on the sideline. When the Grizzlies faced Golden State in early November, Pera insisted that Joerger give significant minutes to fourth-year power forward Ed Davis. Davis played just one. Again, according to sources, Pera insisted that Joerger had to go. Only after it was explained how dysfunctional the franchise would look if it fired a first year head coach six games into the season did Pera back down.
Pera is a joke
