Could Charlie Ward be considered the most athletic person ever?

People always seem to think of Deion and Bo Jackson as the best athletes of all time, but I honestly think that Charlie Ward has them all beat.

Played 11 seasons in the NBA
1993 Heisman Trophy winner
Drafted in both the 1993 and 1994 MLB Drafts

Can't really get much better than that.

No it's Bo. Bo admittedly never really worked out he was just that gifted physically

It's surely impressive. Probably could have hung around in the NFL as a backup.

What were his baseball accomplishments? Enough to play in the bigs or perpetual minor leaguer?

he was a good athlete, but his transition to NBA player means he was more skilled than others of greater athleticism

*ETA: and his body profile fit that of the outlier-based NBA requirements

Yeah, I'm sure Bo Jackson never worked out.

He was just naturally that muscular and cut.

Dave Winfield is a name that should be mentioned.

Dave Winfield?

ETA: Dropping the name; not questioning the near simultaneous name drop above.

Never played college baseball actually. Drafted in the 59th round in '93 and then the 18th round in '94

So at first you say he never really worked out, and now you say he did but not as much as others?

Did he just skip practice on days when the team was lifting?

Ding, Ding, Ding! Winner winner, chicken dinner.

Following college, Winfield was drafted by four teams in three different sports. The San Diego Padres selected him as a pitcher with the fourth overall pick in the MLB draft and both the Atlanta Hawks (NBA) and the Utah Stars (ABA) drafted him.[5][6] And even though he never played college football, the Minnesota Vikings selected Winfield in the 17th round of the NFL draft. He is one of three players ever to be drafted by three professional sports (the others being Mickey McCarty and Dave Logan), and the only athlete drafted by four leagues.[7]

Bo looked like a body builder in high school at a time when they didn't have the weight training of modern high schools.

He worked out but he was always more naturally muscular than others is what Byron was getting at.

Yes definitely more skilled than athletic. By NBA standards he was very average athletically.

Dave winfield was drafted in 3 sports even though he never played football.
