It can be productive. I don't bass fish much out there but the winning string from the Bass Masters Classic a couple of years ago. I don't know of good "spots" but I hear good things.

No reds though, not in a couple of years. Maybe Lake Salvador around temple or the point for reds. We use to catch reds and bass in the bayou back in the later 90's. Not sure if the Davis Pond Diversion put a stop to that or not.

The Classic was won in Cataouchie not Des Allemands. As far as fishing there, water has been bad as of late. Its very hit or miss right now. Catching a lot of catfish though.

I've always heard its one of the best catfish lakes that can be found but have never fished it.

For bass, perch, or sacalait go to Baie Chevreuil. When the waters good you can load up. There is also a grass bed that pops up at the mouth of bayou bouef canal on the left, caught many sacalit there.

Yes The 2011 Classic was won out of Cataouatche. The 1999 Classic was won out of oil field canals near Lake Beouf. On another note, those big jumping carp are showing up in the DesAllemands area. Watch out...
