A school district spent 60 million on a football stadium? Big money for something to get fricked up like it has.

It'll probably be some a-hole parent suing because it ruined their baby's chance of going to the NFL.

Its also got a lot of classrooms and stuff built in, not too dissimilar from the FSU stadium.

but yeah, they spent a shite ton and got some really shoddy work done.

Cracks in the concrete due to design flaws in a 60 million dollar facility? Yeah, that architecture firm is out of business

PBK will not go out of business but the structural engineers they used will take a big hit.

don't have to justify it in TX, majority of property taxes here go to the school district, and if that isn't enough, the boosters, keeping up with the Jones and living vicariously...,) will gladly make up the difference, in our district, a, is in one booster bought a $1mil video board for the stadium(that has suites/sky boxes, and a sushi bar,) a couple of years ago

Yeah, big time design flaw. Looks like the repairs will take a bit after the forensic analysis is done.

Not sure why the amount of money is a big deal to many on here. Texas does things different obviously and have different priorities. Maybe they should spend it on a politician so they can dick around and see if a bridge needs to be built?

And he'll blame the subs. The subs will blame the architects, and round and round we go for years.

What a cluster. Sucks for the kids and parents.

maybe because they're spending obscene money on football stadiums while laying off teachers for starters? and hs football is not a revenue stream

I am in the process of moving to Dallas now for my job. The public schools here are crazy how nice they are (especially out in the burbs). I'm going to hate paying my new property tax at first, but it will all even out.

I doubt any high school in La even has 60 mil much less able to spend it on a football stadium.

It was voted on by people living in the district, and I'm assuming it was paid for by a local gov bond issuance. If that's what they want to do more power to them.

It's actually pretty cool...I wouldn't want that at MY cluster HS (and the higher prop taxes to go with it) but cool nonetheless.
