David Wong has put out the greatest article I've ever read, 6 Harsh Truths that Will Make You a Better Person.
He usually comes out with dog shite articles like this.

I signed a non-compete where I work. If they fired me, I'm pretty sure I could make way more money.

1 way to avoid all of these: don't be a whiny hipster millennial with a degree in art history.
Posted on 5/19/14 at 9:14 pm to fnchdrms87
honestly, this just looks like some dude trying to grab hold of the current victym mentality and ride it...if you are graduating soon, I wouldn't read it as it is only a load of crap that will bring you down at a time when you need to be propped up...

Yeah. Just read the headings and so much whining. The first 2 are laughable. If you didn't want to be in a shitty job market with a worthless degree then maybe you shouldn't have gone into thousand of dollars worth of debt for that shitty liberal arts degree.

Look, the system is very, very good at sustaining itself. It does it primarily by rewarding those who conform. So if you put in your unpaid time, stay quiet when someone is unfairly fired or passed over, and quietly eat the cost of your own education, you will be rewarded. And once you are rewarded, you will suddenly see things in a whole new light. And it really is night and day. The first time you have employers get into a bidding war over your services, or see a loan officer or real estate agent beg you for your business ... you won't remember why you were ever unhappy with the system in the first place. After all, doesn't it all work out in the end?
true as frick
i made it to the end and he ended it on a good note

what a bunch of intelligent, insightful, thought out discussion going on in this thread.

Still a load of hipster bullshite. You have to "conform" so things all work out in the end. You'll have real estate agents begging for your business?? Sounds like good livin to me.

Do you work in a right to work state? If so, then a non-compete doesn't mean much.

For those of you dumping on this article, did you actually read all the way through point #1?
I thought this thing was epic.

Stopped reading after the bit about the $100,000 undergrad. You're doing it wrong if your bachelor's degree cost that much.
